Chixia is a Fusion Pistol wielder in Wuthering Waves and is one of the game’s initial characters. As a four-star character, she specializes in dealing damage to a single target and does not fulfill other roles.
New players often overlook Chixia, and the community tends to criticize her because she is a free character and perceived as having "low damage." However, her damage output is more than sufficient to navigate the game comfortably. She excels at taking down individual enemies, and with the right understanding of her abilities and loadout, players can maximize her potential.
Maximize Your Skills
To get the best results out of Chixia, it’s essential to utilize her resonance skill and resonance liberation effectively. Many beginners often rely too heavily on her standard attacks, which may not be as effective as they expect.
Chixia has access to two charges of her resonance skill. To unlock her full damage potential, players should perform regular attacks and use her resonance skills until her forte gauge is filled. Focusing on building this gauge and triggering it by holding down her resonance skill is the most effective strategy for playing Chixia.
It’s advisable to enter the DAKA DAKA state with a fully charged forte gauge because of her Inherent Skill. This ability increases Chixia’s attack power by 1% for ten seconds with each bullet that hits during the DAKA DAKA state, stacking up to 30 times.
By holding her resonance skill while having a full forte gauge, Chixia enters the "DAKA DAKA!" state, where her attacks become incredibly powerful, enabling her to dispatch foes rapidly.
Understand Your Opponents and Yourself
One significant benefit of utilizing Chixia as a damage dealer is her ability to move freely while still dealing damage. This is a rarity among most characters, who usually need to be static to attack or use skills. Chixia excels in Hologram challenges, where the focus is on dodging attacks and countering rather than simply dealing damage.
However, while Chixia enjoys this mobility, she can be vulnerable to enemies that teleport, such as the Thundering Mephis, when she strays too far from them. Pairing her with a supportive character equipped with the Bell Borne Geochelone can help mitigate the damage she takes.
Power Up Your Attacks
It’s important to note that spamming normal attacks or relying solely on Chixia’s aimed shots for critical hits isn’t the best way to play her. The most effective damage-dealing method involves combining her normal attacks, dash cancelling, and resonance skills.
For optimal results, the combat sequence should be: four normal attacks → tap resonance skill → four normal attacks → tap resonance skill → four normal attacks → hold resonance skill → hold normal attack (known as the Boom Boom shot). Using this combo will fill your forte gauge and enable you to unleash Chixia’s most potent shot.
Teamwork is Key
While it may seem that Chixia relies on her normal attacks for damage, her primary source of damage actually comes from her resonance skills. Therefore, it’s best to build a team that enhances her elemental resonance skills.
It’s worth mentioning that Chixia shouldn’t be used as a sub-damage dealer because she occupies field time without providing support or utility to the team. However, when paired with a team focused on buffing Chixia, she can compete with top damage dealers in Wuthering Waves.
One of Chixia’s standout partners is Taoqi. Taoqi’s Outro skill amplifies the damage of any resonance skill by 38%, which significantly boosts Chixia’s power. With additional team buffers like Verina, Chixia can clear game content effortlessly.
