The King Is Watching

This title suits the game well because the King is always watching. The King you select will strongly influence how your kingdom develops. It can help your kingdom survive over time or cause it to fall apart under Goblin attacks.

There aren’t many Kings you can unlock—only seven, including King Baldwin, who you start with. In comparison, there are nearly 30 different Advisors to pick from. Each King has unique abilities, some more helpful than others.

King Tier List

Since there are only seven Kings, the tiers might seem sparse, with some tiers containing just one King. It’s important to note that there is a lot of variety in building strategies for each King. This makes every King useful in specific situations.

In this list, Kings are ranked based on how often their abilities are useful. This doesn’t necessarily mean they are the strongest at their maximum power, as some abilities depend on chance and can vary in usefulness.

S-Tier

The Kings in this tier are useful in almost any situation. They’re great choices for players new to higher difficulty levels.

King	Abilities	Reason
Baldwin	Raise Militia Boost Production Request Tribute	Baldwin is a balanced King who works well early in the game. He provides free troops and helps increase resource production, allowing your kingdom to grow quickly and become strong.
Leonid	Boost Unit HP Unlimited Gaze Unlimited Wrath	Leonid excels at making his troops hard to kill in the mid and late game. Boosting health along with hospitals or healing magic can create a tough army to defeat.

A-Tier

These Kings are still very good, but their maximum potential is slightly lower than those in S-Tier. They’re reliable and can handle tougher challenges.

Brezhnius		Brezhnius is focused on offense, with abilities that help maximize each troop’s effectiveness. He’s less about resource gathering and more about aggressive tactics.
Leo The Wise	Blueprint Sacrifice Extra Draft Refinement	Leo’s power grows as the game progresses, especially as morale increases. He can summon extra units easily and works well with different builds once properly set up.
Alucard	Second Life A Better You Forbidden Techniques	Alucard is best suited for undead troop builds. He can revive troops after death and upgrade undead units to keep them alive longer, making him very effective in the right strategy.

B-Tier

This tier features Kings that can be very strong but depend quite a bit on luck. Their abilities are sometimes beneficial, but other times not useful, which can make their performance unpredictable.

Spellus	Conjure Simple Spell Conjure Powerful Spell Self-Improvement	Spellus can be great if you get spells that work well with your build. The problem is, you don’t control which spells you get, so luck plays a big role in his effectiveness.
Saladin	Blueprint Summon Standard Unit Summon Strong Unit	Saladin faces a similar issue—his usefulness depends on the random abilities he grants you. Sometimes you’ll get excellent resources or troops, but other times it’s less helpful.

You can unlock new Kings by completing game runs and challenges. These unlocks require earning specific currency and are found in the Green upgrade tree. Each path must be unlocked in order, and new Kings are available only after reaching certain milestones.
