Slay The Spire 2 is a Roguelite game where you start by selecting one of the characters. Then, you follow a randomly generated path, progressing through different rooms until you reach the end of an act and face a final boss. Each act has a known final boss, but the route you take changes every time you play.
One of the most exciting aspects of this randomness is the chance to encounter various events by entering specific zones during your run. These events can either boost your chances of winning or ruin your progress entirely. That’s why it’s important to understand each event well before making a decision.
This article is still being updated; more events will be added as we discover them during gameplay.
How to Get Events in Slay The Spire 2
Looking at the map of Slay The Spire 2, you’ll see five main room types besides the boss room: Unknown, Merchant, Treasure, Rest, Enemy, and Elite. There’s no designated event room because many of these events offer powerful bonuses, but they come with risks. The only way to find events is by exploring the Unknown zones. However, entering these zones also presents a risk—you might encounter other room types instead, including tough Elites. It’s like rolling dice, and sometimes luck isn’t on your side.
If you have the Juzu Bracelet relic, you won’t face normal enemy rooms in Unknown zones. Generally, the chance of finding event rooms is highest in these unknown areas.
All Events You Can Encounter
Slay The Spire 2 features many events, and they can be overwhelming. Here’s a list of some key events and what choices tend to be best:
| Event Name | Choices | Best Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Amalgamator | Remove 2 Strikes to add an Ultimate Strike, or remove 2 Defends to add an Ultimate Defend | Generally, removing Strikes is better — it improves your deck by getting rid of weaker cards. |
| Battleworn Dummy | Fight a dummy with different HP levels for rewards | The dummy doesn’t fight back but must be defeated within three turns for a reward. Choose options based on your deck. |
| Bugslayer | Add Exterminate or Squash to your deck | Pick based on your build; AoE damage (Exterminate) or single-target (Squash). |
| Byrdonis Nest | Gain 7 max HP or take the Byrdonis Egg card | Early game, hatch the egg to summon a powerful ally; late game, boost max HP for the final fight. |
| Dense Vegetation | Remove a card for 11 HP or fight enemies to heal for 19 HP | If you have enough HP, removing a card can be better. Otherwise, healing may be preferable. |
| Doll Room | Pick a doll relic randomly or lose some HP to choose one | Depends on your current HP and needs. |
| Field of Holes | Remove 2 cards and add Normality or enchant a card with Perfect Hit | Both choices are useful; pick based on your deck and play style. |
| Morphic Grove | Lose 100 gold to transform 2 cards or gain 5 max HP | Usually, transforming cards risks worse cards; if you have less than 100 gold, try your luck. |
| Room of Cheese | Choose 2 cards out of 8 or lose 14 HP to get a favored cheese | Early in the run, choosing cards may be better; in longer runs, losing HP might be fine. |
| Sapphire Seed | Heal 9 HP and upgrade a card, or enchant a card with Sown | Upgrading and healing tend to be more beneficial overall. |
| Self-Help Book | Enchant attack with Sharp 2, skill with Nimble 2, or power with Swift 2 | Pick based on your deck needs; Sharp or Nimble are popular choices. |
| Slippery Bridge | Remove a card or lose some HP to randomize a card | You must remove a card, but can reroll until you find a good one—useful if you’re okay with losing HP. |
| Symbiote | Enchant an attack with Corrupted or transform a card | Choose based on your status; if your HP is low, transforming may help. Otherwise, the Corrupted enchantment can be powerful. |
| Table of Truth | Lose 3 max HP to upgrade a random card, or heal 20 HP | If you’re not too low on health, upgrading cards is advantageous. |
| The Legends Were True | Receive a map or lose HP to get a random potion | Generally, taking the map is a safer option, though potions can be very useful. |
| Sunken Statue | Get the Sword of Stone or exchange gold for 7 HP | The sword is better if you plan to fight multiple elites. Otherwise, gold and HP may be more flexible. |
| The Trial | Add Regret or Guilt to your deck | Regret is the better option early, as Guilt can be more damaging over time but harder to remove. |
| This or That? | Lose HP for gold or get a relic by Clumsying a card | Getting a relic is usually more valuable long-term. |
| Wellspring | Get a potion or remove a card to gain Guilt (lasting for fights) | Card removal is generally more beneficial if you have problematic cards. |
| Whispering Hollow | Lose gold for potions or HP to transform cards | If you already have enough potions, transforming cards offers a strategic advantage; otherwise, potions are helpful. |
Knowing what each event offers and choosing the right options can significantly improve your chances in the game.
