Whether you’re casually crafting items while exploring Everwind or working diligently at a crafting table on your project, there are many fun ways to craft in this early access indie survival game.

Each craft station you unlock for your ship serves a unique purpose and becomes essential during your sky adventures. You can find and create everything you and your friends need to survive in the open skies.

Crafting Overview

Like most survival games, crafting is a major part of Everwind. You’ll use resources to build tools, weapons, gear, food, and decorations all throughout your journey.

You can craft basic items directly from your inventory using the Pocket Crafting mechanic, which is ideal for simple tools or resource processing. More advanced items require specific work tables, which you’ll unlock as you explore more of the world.

Start by creating a Crafting Station from your pocket inventory, and your gameplay will open up significantly. Your initial shelter provides some basics — like a Furnace and Cooking Station — to help you craft weapons, armor, and meals. As you explore, you’ll need to craft more sophisticated equipment yourself.

Crafting Stations

Many crafting stations don’t have set recipes but are crucial for survival and crafting advanced items. These include:

Repair Stations

In your adventures, you’ll notice tools and weapons wear down over time. Higher-quality items last longer, but everything eventually needs repairs. Bring repair kits to these stations to fix your gear.

Furnace

To use ores in crafting, you need to process raw ores into smelted ingots at a furnace. Fuel the furnace to melt your minerals, which you can then use to craft better armor, tools, and weapons.

Processing Station

Construct this station with Steamer Metal bits and connect it to your ship’s power. It allows you to break down items into their base components, like getting ingots back from your upgraded armor.

Upgrade Station

Once you’ve crafted weapons, armor, and tools at various stations, bringing them to the Upgrade Station lets you improve their durability and effectiveness over time.

Rune Crafting

Finding your first Rune Crafting station involves some exploration and fighting off Wraiths. After building it, you can combine five Runealit pieces with five matching Rune Fragments to create a Rune. Runes enhance your weapons and gear with special effects, making it well worth experimenting with.

Pocket Crafting

You can access the pocket crafting menu via the pipe and hammer icon in your inventory. This system allows you to create essential items needed to survive in Everwind’s wilderness before unlocking more advanced crafting stations.
