When you’re ready to start quick races and multiplayer modes in Ride 6, choosing the right bike is essential. The game feels very realistic from the start. To succeed, you’ll need to spend your credits on upgrades that make your bike more competitive in races.
At the beginning, there are several upgrades that can help you race better and stay with the pack. These upgrades are just the basics, and as you progress, you’ll want to do more or buy new bikes. When you’re just starting out, it’s best to save your credits for these initial upgrades.
Upgrade These Bike Parts First
Once you’re ready, head to the garage to modify your stock bike. Upgrading parts will also change your bike’s rating, showing how competitive it is.
Besides cosmetic changes, you can customize specific parts to prepare your bike for different types of races. When starting out, focus on upgrading these specific components first.
| Parts | Description |
|---|---|
| Exhaust | Upgrading the exhaust is the first step. It improves acceleration, top speed, handling, and braking. Aim for brands like Yoshimura or SC Project. Save at least 1,500 credits for one of these. |
| Tires | Upgrading tires gives you the best value early on. High-quality tires boost acceleration, handling, and braking — crucial skills for winning races. |
| Braking System | If you’re having trouble with handling, upgrading your brakes can help. Proper brakes are tough to master, but an upgrade makes it easier. The second brake kit is better if you have enough credits and find braking challenging. |
| Camshaft | Upgrading this part increases both your acceleration and top speed, helping you catch up when other racers get ahead on straightaways. |
| Piston | For better powertrain performance, start with the piston. Follow with connecting rods and air filters for maximum effect. Upgrading the control unit also boosts speed and acceleration. This helps you stay competitive on longer straight sections. |
| Carburetor/Injector | If your goal is faster acceleration, upgrading the carburetor or injector is a good choice. It offers a slight increase in top speed but mainly improves your acceleration. |
| Rims | Rims are less important but can still slightly affect acceleration, handling, and braking. Only consider upgrading rims after you’ve improved the other parts, since the performance gains are minimal. |
