Starfield will be available on PS5 starting April 7, 2026, alongside Bethesda’s most significant update since launch — the Free Lanes update.
This marks the first time players on PlayStation will get to experience Starfield, which will fully support PS5 features. The game will utilize the DualSense controller’s light bar and adaptive triggers and offer various graphics options on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
In addition to announcing the release date, Bethesda revealed details about the Free Lanes update and the upcoming Terran Armada DLC. The Free Lanes update enhances space travel, allowing players to freely voyage between planets in any direction. It introduces a new resource called X-Tech, enabling players to customize their weapons, gear, and ships more extensively.
Outposts have also been upgraded, with features like shared containers, pet companions, and more. The update also adds new ship modules, side quests, and other content. The Terran Armada DLC, priced at $9.99, introduces a brand-new storyline and a new companion, challenging players to confront the emerging threat of the Terran Armada in the galaxy.
