Nintendo fans have noticed some names in the credits of both Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, hinting at a potential crossover in the future.
Even though some fans were unhappy about the $80 price of Mario Kart World, many believe that the game will receive post-launch downloadable content (DLC). While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed anything about updates or new content, most fans are confident that updates will come.
This brings up an important question: what new content could be added to Mario Kart World? Many players likely want a way to only race on tracks instead of connecting roads. However, a key enhancement would be adding more characters and tracks. It looks like this could actually happen.
Spoiler Alert: There is a character reveal from Donkey Kong Bananza ahead. A second alert will follow before that reveal for those who want to skip it.
Characters in Donkey Kong Bananza’s Credits Hint at Future Additions
One Character Fans Are Eager to See
On the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, a user named SemiLazyGamer flagged some information shared by another user, prpro-03, about the credits of Donkey Kong Bananza. In this discussion, prpro-03 noted that some names in Donkey Kong Bananza also appeared in the credits of Mario Kart World.
These names include Yuu Hayashi and Tsuguo Mogami. While Mario Kart World doesn’t indicate which characters they voice, Donkey Kong Bananza specifically ties them to certain characters. Notably, the characters they voice in Donkey Kong Bananza aren’t currently in Mario Kart World, suggesting they might be included in a future update.
For instance, Yuu Hayashi voices Void Kong in Donkey Kong Bananza, but he isn’t attributed to any character in Mario Kart World. Tsuguo Mogami, however, voices (another spoiler warning) King K. Rool in Bananza and has not yet voiced anyone in Mario Kart World.
Interestingly, young Pauline is not mentioned in the credits for Mario Kart World, even though she seems like an obvious addition.
While it’s possible that Hayashi and Mogami are voicing other characters, it seems likely that Void Kong and King K. Rool may be included in an upcoming update. Whether this new content will be free or part of a paid expansion remains unclear, but fans would be thrilled to see more representation from the Donkey Kong universe.
