Since its launch, players have been eager for a New Game Plus mode for Cyberpunk 2077. Back in 2019, CD Projekt Red mentioned that they were “working on” this mode. However, as of February 2025, there’s still no official New Game Plus available. The developers haven’t ruled out the possibility entirely, but their silence over the past few years suggests it may not happen anytime soon. Still, there’s more to explore regarding the potential for this game mode, so let’s discuss what we know about playing New Game Plus in Cyberpunk 2077.
Is There a New Game Plus in Cyberpunk 2077?
Currently, there is no official New Game Plus mode in Cyberpunk 2077, but fans remain hopeful. After all, The Witcher 3 didn’t introduce this feature until some time after its release, through a free DLC. It’s possible Cyberpunk could take a similar path, but for now, that’s the extent of the information available. Additionally, considering the nature of Cyberpunk 2077’s story, the concept of a New Game Plus may not align perfectly with the character V’s journey.
If you’re playing on a PC, there is an alternative: you can find mods that enable New Game Plus. One of the most widely used options is the New Game Plus – Native mod available on NexusMods. As with any third-party mods, proceed with caution when downloading. Unfortunately, console players will have to continue waiting for updates from the developers.
Even without New Game Plus, there are still numerous reasons to revisit Cyberpunk 2077 or continue exploring Night City after finishing the main storyline. The game’s array of romantic relationships offers plenty to discover, and the respec system allows players to experiment with different character builds, albeit at a cost.
As for future updates: here’s everything we know about the upcoming multiplayer feature for Cyberpunk 2077, which is anticipated to launch a few years down the line.
