What Are Rift Shards Used For?

Players can wander through a vast open world featuring over five distinct biomes, face numerous foes, and construct anything they can imagine. Rift Shards serve as a unique resource vital for crafting two important utility stations: the Battle Bus Station and Legendary Forge. Whether you’re trying to travel faster or enhance your gear, Rift Shards are crucial, and this guide will show you how to obtain them.

How to Get Rift Shards

Rift Shards can be collected in two primary ways: defeating one of the three types of Golems found on the Lost Isles, and destroying Battle Bus Stations.

Locating Golems in the Lost Isles can be tricky if you’re not familiar with their whereabouts. You can find sleeping Golems near Jungle biomes, typically positioned by a chest at the base of a large fruit statue. When you open the chest, the Golem will wake up and engage in combat.

These foes are incredibly strong and can easily overpower you if you’re not ready.

You can find Storm-wild and Tomato Golems floating above the Lost Isles, and they are substantially more challenging to defeat. Each of these will generally drop one Rift Shard upon defeat.

Using a high-level pickaxe will make taking down Golems much easier.

Lastly, Battle Bus Stations can be located throughout the overworld and are susceptible to destruction by an Epic pickaxe or higher. Once discovered, they’ll be represented by letters on your map and can be tracked by following blue pillars of light.

Upon destruction, these stations will yield three Rift Shards, along with other resources necessary for their creation.
