Throughout your journey, you may encounter locked doors and sealed chests, often without any immediate clues on how to unlock them. One particular mystery, Bright Future, tasks you with locating a crate of stolen goods that you’ll likely find before discovering the combination to open it.

If you’ve come across an unusual locked chest at the Khentkawes dig site or a note hinting at stolen goods, this guide will assist you in finding both the code and the lockbox.

How to Start the Bright Future Mystery

The quest begins with a note located in the Nazi Recreation Area, which is a restricted zone situated south of the Nazi Compound and west of the Great Sphinx. Here, you will also find the Harvest Stele inside a locked box resting on a truck bed. To kick off your quest, you need to locate Pohl’s Letter, which is found in a fenced-off area. Enter the larger of the two tents and head to the room at the end filled with radio equipment. On the table, you’ll find Pohl’s Letter, which details an incident involving a soldier caught smuggling stolen equipment leading to Khentkawes. The letter instructs the reader to check the soldier’s bunk for more details, which will be our next stop.

Finding Pohl’s Letter and the Nazi Note

Stay within the fenced area and make your way to the soldier’s bunk located in the other large tent. Carefully move through the courtyard and enter the tent across from where you started. Look for the bunks lined against the wall, and you’ll find the Nazi Note on a bottom bunk next to a yellow helmet. This note reveals that the stolen goods are located at the midpoint between "the cat" and "the queen," positioned near a wagon. It also provides the code 0926 required to unlock the box.

Before leaving, don’t forget to check the container on the floor between the bunks on your left to discover the Adventure Book: Brawling – Block Head.

Where to Locate the Stolen Goods

Open your map to see a large search area for the stolen goods. Fortunately, we have enough clues to narrow it down. Pohl’s Letter indicates that the soldier was apprehended "along the road to Khentkawes." The Nazi Note indicates that the goods are situated equidistantly from the Sphinx and the Khentkawes tomb, at the midpoint between "the cat" and "the queen."

Leave the Nazi Recreation Area and head south towards the Khentkawes excavation site. Keep an eye out for a few landmarks, such as a truck on the road with a barrier in front and a small hill topped with a makeshift structure draped in red fabric. The lockbox you seek will be positioned just off the row between two palm trees, not far from Omar.

When you reach the lockbox, enter the code 0926—but be prepared to flee! Opening the box triggers a concealed stash of dynamite. Pohl’s Letter hinted at the soldier smuggling explosives! By opening the lockbox, you will complete the Bright Future questline.

Locations of All Mystery Notes for Bright Future

You may come across the Nazi Note first, allowing you to complete the quest even if you don’t locate Pohl’s Letter. However, for thoroughness, it’s beneficial to gather both notes.
