Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist places you in the role of a small Attuner named Lilac. She has the special gift of calming troubled homunculi and harnessing their powers for exploration and battle. However, certain abilities require not defeating bosses but locating them throughout the Land of Fumes.
While you journey through the game, you may come across various water bodies scattered across the map. These waters can lead to new regions or valuable items, but to explore underwater, you’ll need to unlock the Dive ability.
How to Acquire the Dive Ability
To unlock the Dive ability, you’ll need to reach the Subterranean Waterway area. You can enter this section by breaking the horizontal barrier in the Old City Market, close to the Craftory.
To break through the barrier, you first have to defeat Garm The Giant Gravedigger in the Magicite Mine area. After winning this battle, you’ll earn Garm’s Iron Stake ability, allowing you to destroy the Growth on the ground.
Once you’ve cleared the growth in the Old City Market, continue downward until you fall into a body of water. The Subterranean Waterway consists of many water-filled sections, and even before acquiring the Dive ability, you can make progress through this area towards the Respite.
Beware of various enemies lurking underwater. You can utilize Yovlan and Muninn’s skills to attack these foes even when swimming.
From the entrance of the Subterranean Waterway, proceed to the right until you find a section that leads downward. You’ll need to drop to the bottom here and swim to the left.
In this area, you will discover another downward path. Stay alert as there are numerous rat-spawning machines in this section. Keep descending until you reach the water, where the pressure will carry you to the next area.
As you continue downward, you will fall into another water-filled area. Here, you can head towards the right side of the screen. Be aware of some poison-spewing enemies on the platforms. You must eliminate them to jump onto the platforms and find the exit on the right.
As you clear the area, you’ll come across an Attuner in distress. This character will ask you to take their Arcane Instrument on your journey, granting you the Dive Ability. Just ahead, you’ll discover the Attuner’s Respite, where you can save your game and take a break.
How to Use the Dive Ability
Once you’ve obtained the Dive ability, you can move effortlessly through water or acid. You’re able to execute melee attacks and use certain skills. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to use abilities that require momentum, like Hati’s Charge or Garm’s Iron Stake, while underwater.
You can also swim up waterfalls located in some sections, opening access to new areas. Moreover, you can swim freely in acid; however, take care as you’ll slowly take damage while submerged. Act swiftly to minimize your time in hazardous areas.
