Where to Find Gortash’s Parents in BG3

You can find Gortash’s parents inside Flymm’s Cobblers shop located in the Lower City at coordinates X: -36, Y: -110. To reach this area, you’ll need to exit the Shadow-Cursed Lands during Act 2.

Flymm’s Cobblers is situated in the southeast part of the Lower City, just north of Old Garlow’s Palace. The closest fast travel point is the Lower City Central Wall.

The shop’s door is unlocked, allowing you to walk right in.

Confronting Gortash’s Parents in BG3

When you speak to Gortash’s father, Drave Flymm, you quickly discover that they are plagued by a Mindflayer parasite. Yet, your character senses something is amiss with their condition.

Using Detect Thoughts on Drave reveals that he lacks any thoughts of his own, functioning instead as a mere puppet, endlessly repeating words.

Next, engage with Sally Flymm and connect your tadpole to her through Illithid Powers. Her previously calm demeanor will shatter as she shares their harrowing story.

They revealed that they sold Gortash for money when he was a child to pay off debts. Eventually, Gortash returned and implanted Mindflayer parasites in their brains, rendering them unable to think or express themselves freely—they can only regurgitate what Gortash has programmed them to say.

At this point, Sally appears completely shattered and asks for help or a merciful end. Unfortunately, there’s no viable alternative to alleviate their suffering, leading to the grim choice of killing them.

If you choose to spare them and return later after Gortash’s defeat, they will remain unchanged.

The area is crawling with Gortash’s Steelwatch, so ensure you close the door before attacking the elderly couple.

The couple has low hit points and can be taken down with a single blow. Once defeated, you can loot their bodies for Mindflayer Parasite Specimens as well as Gortash’s Chest Key from Sally’s corpse.

Head upstairs and use the key to unlock a treasure chest, which will contain a book outlining the plans of the Three Warlords, as well as directions to Hellsik’s shop if you haven’t discovered it yet.
