True to its title, players can engage romantically with everything from household appliances like toasters to abstract concepts like existential dread. To transform an object into its human form, players must know where to search. While some items, such as couches, are easy to find, others, like air or dust bunnies, require a bit more effort.

In ScreenRant‘s review of Date Everything!, I noted how natural it feels to date your microwave or any other random item in your living space using special glasses called Dateviators. When wearing these glasses, objects will glow, signaling you can fire heart-shaped lasers from them to summon the object’s human counterpart. However, things get trickier with elusive characters such as the Nightmare or Rongomaiwhenua, the geode.

With more than 100 objects available as romanceable NPCs at launch—each boasting three possible endings—this game offers a truly unique and imaginative storyline. Beyond their individual arcs, players will need to search for all Dateables for the main game narrative.

Interestingly, in Date Everything!, the word “date” stands for “Directly Acknowledge a Thing’s Existence.”

The Dateables in the game include ordinary household objects, theoretical ideas, mobile apps, and even the game itself. It seems that no object is beyond reach. Surprisingly, this quirky idea has resonated with many, with the game already being touted as a potential Game of the Year contender.

Most Dateables are relatively easy to find, such as a refrigerator, table, sofa, or treadmill. However, there’s a gray area of items that, while not hidden, might catch players off guard. These include walls, phone apps, and even running water. Players often overlook these things simply because they don’t expect them to be part of the interaction.

Some Dateables require story progression with other characters before they even appear, like the geode, ironing board, and items located in the attic. Lastly, there are some Dateables so well concealed that discovering them might rely solely on luck, such as the existential dread character, Nightmare, or even the attic ghost.

Fortunately, with so many Dateables in the game, players don’t have to choose just one at a time. If done right, you can date almost all 102 characters simultaneously without any issues. Although that might be overwhelming in reality, in the world of Date Everything!, anything goes.
