If you’re looking to gather collectibles in Avowed, you won’t want to miss the Earthy Aegis treasure. This particular treasure is a bit trickier to find than others in the area, so you’ll need to stay alert while searching for it. Keep in mind that there are many challenges ahead, especially since enemies will become increasingly aggressive as you hunt for both the map and the treasure itself.
In Avowed, there’s a wide array of collectibles to discover, and while various shards present the toughest challenges, the Earthy Aegis treasure also requires determined effort to secure. However, with a few straightforward strategies, you can make your quest easier.
Understanding the Earthy Aegis Clue
What the Clue Means
The clue to locate the Earthy Aegis treasure can be found in the Naku Tedek area of Emerald Stairs. However, beware, as your path might take you near some difficult Bounty sites. These areas can pose a significant threat if you’re new to the region, so it’s best to steer clear until your gear reaches a quality closer to +3 “Fine.”
To access this region, consider using one of the bridges for a smoother entry. When you arrive, activate the arda to save your game progress. Then, turn left toward the nearby tents where you’ll find a building with a root leading to it and an open window. This jump can be quite tricky; you may need to sprint and leap at the last moment to reach the opening. Don’t be discouraged if you miss it at first.
Once you manage to enter, simply open the treasure chest to acquire the map and keep moving. The clue isn’t very obvious with no major landmarks, just plenty of trees and a faint hint toward the destination in the map’s corner. You’ll want to head generally toward Tama’s Cabin, a quest you receive from Kai in the area, which serves as a useful reference point.
Locating the Earthy Aegis Treasure Chest
Where to Find It on the Map
From Tama’s Cabin, move westward toward the marked location on your map. It’s a brief journey but filled with enemies, so proceed with caution. Alternatively, you might opt to backtrack a bit and approach the site from further south, which can be a safer approach.
If you go straight west, prepare to pass through a section below your destination, which will likely have several enemies marked with multiple skulls next to their names.
You are searching for the ruin depicted in the clue image, sitting atop a cliff overlooking a camp swarming with foes. Be mindful that there’s a similarly shaped ruin near the Ranger’s Tower, but it’s not the one you seek. Directly near the ruin you’re searching for is the Wildwoods Plateau Party Camp; if you head north from this location, you should reach the cabin without issue.
Once there, look for a root winding around the right side of the building. Follow this root until it leads you to a window, where you’ll find a switch underneath. It might be challenging to spot, but you need to activate the switch to unlock the door. Afterward, return to the front of the ruin to find the treasure chest waiting inside, completing your quest.
Rewards for the Earthy Aegis Treasure
What You Gain for Your Efforts
The reward for your hard work is the Nature’s Ward Shield, a unique item with impressive stats, as detailed below:
Nature’s Ward Shield Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Block Efficiency | 63 |
| Stability | 20 |
| Parry Efficiency | 220 |
| Elemental Resistance | 30 |
| Spiked Brambles | Blocking a melee attack causes damage to the attacker. |
| Purging | 50% chance to eliminate the Poisoned Status |
This shield is quite useful, especially at this stage of the game. While I mainly played with a Ranger/Wizard build, limiting my use of shields, it could be invaluable if you opt for an elemental-focused setup, featuring a ring that boosts Poison damage and a sword that causes elemental damage, allowing for multiple status effects at once.
Remember, there are plenty of treasures to uncover in Avowed, each offering valuable improvements. Be sure to collect this treasure and keep an eye out for even more as you explore the world of Avowed!
