In Avowed , collecting Totems is one of the simplest and most effective methods to enhance your character’s stats quickly. Wael’s Totem, specifically, can be discovered and gathered throughout the Shatterscarp region. Depending on your equipment, you should be able to collect these with relative ease. Additionally, clues are available to assist you in locating the totem if you prefer not to rely solely on the map provided.

In Avowed, Totems and Ancient Memories serve as excellent means to increase your character’s stats without the need for upgrades. It can be challenging to gather all necessary resources for upgrading your gear, and purchasing upgrades can be pricey. Fortunately, these collectibles offer a straightforward way to enhance your stats simply by picking them up from the ground.

Where to Find Clues for the Totem of Revelations in Shatterscarp

The Best Merchant for Clue Hunting

Unlike some other Totems, finding the clue map for Wael’s Totem is relatively simple. To get started, enter Thirdborn and visit the merchant at The Dead Swordfish, which is located across the street from the fish and bounty merchants and near where you first meet Yatzli during the main quest. The merchant you want to find is named Cinzia.

When you bring up her inventory, look for an item named Fragments of the Eyes. This shop also offers unique gear, so take a moment to browse and see if there’s anything that fits your character’s style. I found the Trickster’s Cuirass appealing, but since I already had a slightly better piece of armor, I decided to pass. After purchasing this clue, you’ll be on your way to tracking down the Wael’s Totem fragments.

Avowed Totem of Revelations Guide: Locating Every Piece of Wael’s Totem

Wael’s Totem Base & Ruby Eye – Shrine of Wael

These two items can be found in the same location. Head towards the southwestern section of the map, where you should see the Shrine of Wael marked. You’ll want to approach the coast before climbing up the cliffs and entering the Shrine.

Inside the room with the totem base, you’ll find a chest behind some barred cells that you can access by freezing them. This offers a quick way to obtain better gear early in your journey. Once your back is facing the totem, take the left path and follow it upwards. At the top, you’ll encounter a character gazing out over the cliff.

This character is known as the Ward of the Eye, and a simple conversation will award you the Ruby Eye without any hassle. Remember to save your game before descending the cliff, as there’s a bounty target at the bottom that presents a tough challenge without an autosave feature. If, like me, you’re not prepared, you may find yourself dying and having to repeat the process of speaking with the Ward to reclaim the Ruby Eye.

Amethyst Eye – Ancient Lakebed

If you exit the Thirdborn Party Camp and head toward the First Contact with the Enemy quest, you’ll pass near this location, which is hidden within a cave that’s tricky to spot. Look for a few corpses and carefully navigate through the cave until you notice orange markings.

Topaz Eye – Leviathan’s Hollow

You won’t overlook this one if you’re on the First Contact with the Enemy quest. First, defeat the enemies outside the cave you’re set to explore, then move toward the large lizard-shaped opening and dive into the water. Switch to swimming mode and head to the cave entrance, where you’ll encounter more foes.

This camp proved to be a tougher challenge than I anticipated, especially for an early side quest in Thirdborn. Be prepared with your best weapons in Avowed before launching into these fights. Once you’ve taken down the enemies, follow the left path going up the balconies. You’ll face another smaller group of foes and find a route that wraps around the leading room.

If you follow this path, you’ll discover the Topaz Eye along with a quest marker for Manu’s Badge, which is located at the shrine. Make sure to collect both before wrapping up.

Emerald Eye – Shark’s Teeth

This part is straightforward if you’ve located the Shark’s Teeth Party Camp. Cross the intact bridge towards the statue surrounded by scaffolding. Avoid overthinking it; just climb the scaffolding until you’re on top of the statue’s head, where you’ll find the Emerald Eye. After collecting this, note that the main quest starts on one side of the Party Camp, with a bounty mission on the other.

Agate Eye – Sand Sea Ruins

This one can be tricky to locate as getting into the ruins isn’t obvious. When you approach the ruins from the north, glance towards the slightly smaller ruins to your left. There’s a path with several enemies leading to the scaffolding you can climb to enter the main ruins.

Be aware that there are multiple chests in this area that require lockpicks to access.

When you reach the level where you can drop through, make sure to fall to the second level rather than the first. From here, you can easily navigate the area to find the Agate Eye Totem fragment.

Sapphire Eye – Sand Sea Oasis

This eye can be found almost directly at the beacon for this region, located in the far southeastern corner of the map. Just past the beacon, there’s an oasis pool where you’ll need to dive in. The Sapphire Eye might be somewhat elusive, as it’s situated near the bottom and back of the pool. Once collected, you’ll have all the components needed to complete the totem.

Final Rewards for Wael’s Totem
