Every Tuesday, Destiny 2 undergoes a weekly reset, changing up activities and challenges to keep players engaged in the hunt for loot. This reset, which also includes vendor inventory updates and new activity modifiers, is crucial for players looking to upgrade their Guardians with the best gear. With the current season, Heresy, nearing completion and the new saga, The Edge of Fate, on the horizon, it’s a perfect opportunity to wrap up any remaining tasks from last year’s episodes before they head to the Destiny Content Vault. Here’s what you need to know about the weekly reset, including the timing and what changes to expect.
When is the weekly reset in Destiny 2?
The Destiny 2 weekly reset occurs every Tuesday at 5 PM UTC, which translates to 10 AM PDT / 1 PM EDT / 6 PM BST / 7 PM CEST. For regions like New Zealand and parts of Australia, the reset happens early Wednesday morning.
In addition to the weekly reset, Destiny 2 has a daily reset each day at 5 PM UTC for activities such as bounties and vendor stock refreshes. Keep in mind that local daylight savings changes may affect these times.
The weekly reset also serves as an opportunity for Bungie to roll out updates and hotfixes. This usually means that Destiny 2 servers will be down for maintenance a couple of hours before 5 PM UTC. Once the servers are back up (hopefully shortly after the reset), be sure to update your game to avoid encountering the ‘cat’ error code.
