Bile Titans in Helldivers 2 are some of the toughest enemies that the Terminids control. These large, heavily armored bugs stand taller than the players and spew dangerous chemicals nearby. If you’re facing off against the Bugs in Helldivers 2, the Bile Titans are definitely among the most dangerous foes you’ll encounter. When you’re having trouble defeating them, I’ll go over their weaknesses and the best tactics to take them down.
Bile Titans are among the most heavily armored enemies in Helldivers 2. However, their mouths and the glowing green underside are weaker points that you should target for maximum damage. The underbelly has some armor but isn’t heavily protected, so regular primary weapons can destroy it. Shooting the underbelly until it breaks not only damages the Titan significantly but also stops it from spitting bile, greatly reducing its threat level.
If you can’t destroy the underbelly, you can also aim at the Titan’s mouth with high-damage shots just before it vomits. This can cancel its bile attack. Railguns are especially good for this because they deliver a lot of damage quickly. Striking the mouth directly from the side with a charged Railgun shot can also often take a Bile Titan out in one hit. It’s unclear if this mouth is an intentional weak spot, but it’s definitely useful to exploit on higher difficulties.
However, Bile Titans are heavily armored in most other areas. To bring one down quickly, you’ll need powerful explosives and armor-piercing weapons like the ones available in Helldivers 2. Here’s a quick list of the best gear to use against them:
– Railgun
– Autocannon
– Recoilless Rifle
– Anti-Tank Shells
– Laser Cannon
– Orbital Railcannon Strike
– Orbital Laser
– Eagle 500kg Bomb
– Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods
– Autocannon Sentry
– Rocket Sentry
You don’t have to use all of these at once, but having at least one option on each team member can help you succeed. In a pinch, a well-placed Hellpod reinforcement can also deal significant damage.
When fighting a Bile Titan, use your environment wisely. Avoid its bile sprays by staying behind cover and making movement difficult for it. Having the Titan run around obstacles or turn often makes it easier to dodge attacks, especially since they move quickly in straight lines. Keeping your distance is usually safest, but if the Titan gets too close, running underneath and avoiding its leg strikes can be safe, giving you a clear view of its underbelly.
Bile Titans appear on all planets controlled by the Terminids, especially in the eastern sectors of the galaxy. They first show up at Challenging difficulty, and one of the mission objectives may be to eliminate them. From Hard difficulty onward, stronger enemies like Bile Titans spawn more often, and at higher levels like Suicide Mission, they can wander the map alone or come out of Bug Breaches with large groups of Terminids.
If you need to kill Bile Titans for daily Orders or special challenges, look for Missions labeled “eliminate Bile Titans” on Challenging difficulty for the easiest approach.
