Death Stranding 2 is getting a surprise update this week to celebrate its official release on PC, introducing a variety of new features and content.
In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, Kojima Productions announced some of the upcoming additions. First, a new “To the Wilder” mode will be available, challenging players’ porter skills by flooding environments with enemies and making delivery missions more difficult.
The update will also bring new fieldware, including unlockable bandanas accessible through VR training, along with visual enhancements. Players will now be able to see the Chiral Feline in Sam’s private room on the DHV Magellan and also view it in Photo Mode.
These enhancements will arrive on the PC version as well, with Kojima Productions confirming that PS5 players will receive them simultaneously on March 19, 2026. For PC players, there are some in-game bonus rewards for staying connected, such as special backpack customization patches and an exclusive PlayStation-inspired suit, which can be unlocked by linking their PlayStation account to the game.
