Creating a Repair and Salvage Station in Abiotic Factor: Completing and Solving

In Abiotic Factor, you won’t usually be working with fancy tools because most equipment is broken or locked away. Instead, you’ll need to craft makeshift weapons from office supplies and scrap metal. For example, turning a floor lamp into a spear or shaping metal pipes into a club for self-defense. These improvised weapons aren’t durable, so it’s important to keep them repaired. To do that, you’ll need an Anvil.

### How to Find an Anvil
Anvils are essential because they let you build the Repair & Salvage Station, a handy crafting station that repairs gear or breaks down resources into basic parts, like converting Rotten Meat into Bio Scraps. The first place to find an Anvil is in the Supply Room behind the Cafeteria, where you meet Dr. Thule. Enter the Storage Room marked by Dr. Thule and crawl through the vent leading to the room with the Carbuncle.

Instead of heading straight to the Carbuncle, go through the vent directly ahead. You’ll reach a spinning fan—wait until it’s past 9 PM so the power turns off, stopping the fan. Crouch underneath and slip past it to the other side. Inside, go into the next room through the green door to get a shortcut back to the Cafeteria. Inside, you’ll find many resources such as Paper Scraps, Tomato Seeds, and a Flashlight, along with some Filing Cabinets to loot. An Anvil is stored on the bottom shelf near the wall adjacent to the Maintenance Room door. Grab it and take it back to your base.

You can also find additional Anvils in the Storage Room next to Silo Three and in the room where Dr. Alice Mayfield is located. Several more are scattered throughout Manufacturing West, like in the Shipping Logistics area.

### What You Can Craft With Anvils
The Anvil is mainly used to craft the Repair & Salvage Station and later, the Symphonist Scarecrow, which helps defend your base against Symphonists in Flathill. To build the Repair & Salvage Station, you’ll need four materials, including the Anvil. Most of these materials are fairly easy to gather:

| Material | How to Obtain |
|————————|———————————————————————————————-|
| Anvil x1 | Found in the locations mentioned above |
| Coil x1 | Break down computer monitors or get them from Security Bots after defeating them |
| Duct Tape x6 | Found in Filing Cabinets, Cupboards, Toolboxes, or when breaking wooden crates |
| Metal Pipe x2 | Dismantle metal pipes in office areas like the Executive Bathroom or from crates |

The second purpose for the Anvil is to craft the Symphonist Scarecrow, which provides protection against Symphonists later in the game. To make this item, you’ll need:

| Material | How to Obtain |
|————————-|——————————————————————————————————|
| Symphonist Head x1 | Kill and butcher a Symphonist with a sharp tool like a Kitchen Knife |
| Anvil x1 | Located in specific rooms such as the Storage Room near Silo Three |
| Energy Brick x1 | Craft at a bench using a Power Supply Unit, Circuit Board, Tech Scrap, and a Case Fan |
| Security Bot CPU x1 | Defeat and butcher a Security Bot using a sharp weapon |
