In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, friendship plays a crucial role. To unlock quests, you need to strengthen your connections with other characters. Completing these quests often gives you rewards like upgrades or even opens up larger missions. Each character offers a unique personality and has specific gift preferences that help foster friendship.
You can only give three gifts each day, so it’s wise to pick the best options. A great early-game gift for a specific character is the Jack-O-Lantern. This guide will explain where to find the crafting plan for the Jack-O-Lantern and the materials you need to create it.
How to Craft a Jack-O-Lantern
The first step to crafting a Jack-O-Lantern is to locate its crafting plan, which can be found by reaching the Spooky Swamps. If you haven’t accessed this area yet, complete the ‘Power Up The Gate’ quest in the Seaside Resort to unlock it.
If you’ve recently explored the Spooky Swamps, you can typically find Kuromi near the mailbox just north of the Fwishing Well in the center of the area. From where you see Kuromi, take the cobblestone path, and after a short walk, you’ll spot Visitor Cabin number two on your left.
Start at the wooden bridge next to this cabin and jump to the left over the iron fence. This will take you to a dead tree. Nearby, you’ll find a wooden chest on top of the lilypads in the river, which contains the crafting plan for the Jack-O-Lantern.
After you’ve found the crafting plan, you can create the Jack-O-Lantern at the crafting bench next to Chococat. Each Jack-O-Lantern requires five pumpkins to make.

You can find pumpkins scattered throughout the Spooky Swamp, but the best location to gather them is the Pumpkin Patch, situated between Kuromi’s initial meeting point and Visitor Cabin number two.
The Jack-O-Lantern is classified as both a Fall and Spooky item. As a Two Heart Gift, it’s one of the best early-game presents for Kuromi, and it also serves as a stylish decoration for visitor cabins!
