The wine puzzle called “A Tale of Wine Making” appears in the Indiana Jones: Order of Giants expansion and seems meant to trick players. You’re supposed to arrange a series of tiles found in the room to tell the story of how wine is made. However, the correct order isn’t immediately clear. At first glance, you might think the tiles should be placed from left to right, but that approach doesn’t work. Here’s the actual solution.
The correct sequence for the Indiana Jones wine puzzle is shown above. If it seems out of order compared to what you’ve tried—probably assuming a straightforward left-to-right process—it’s because the real order is determined by how the vines grow and loop around the tiles.
The tiles are named and tell the story in this specific order:
1. Plant (an empty vine)
2. Grow (a vine with grapes)
3. Harvest (a person picking grapes)
4. Process (crushing the grapes)
5. Ferment (a person with amphoras)
6. A fixed tile which cannot be moved
But you shouldn’t just place them in the direct process order. Instead, look at how the vines emerge from the ground. Counting from where the vines grow, the sequence differs:
– The first vine connects to the first and third spots.
– The second vine goes to the second and fifth spots.
– The third vine reaches the fourth and sixth spots (the tile that can’t be moved).
Use this vine-growing pattern to place the tiles in order. When you do, you’ll complete the puzzle and earn a Mithraic artifact for your collection.
In the end, this puzzle feels intentionally tricky compared to others, like the Mediterranean map mural puzzle or the Serpent water puzzle from the same DLC. Those are tricky but follow a logical pattern, unlike this one, which seems designed to confuse. But now that you know, you can move on to the next challenge without frustration.
