Cooking in Longvinter goes beyond mere survival; it’s about creating satisfying meals that fuel your journey. Whether you’re preparing a quick bite or trying out new recipes, knowing how to cook effectively can enhance your experience significantly.
While it’s possible to just throw ingredients onto a campfire and hope it turns out well, getting the hang of more advanced cooking techniques can lead to tastier meals, quicker results, and a more immersive gameplay experience.
How to Cook
Cooking might seem straightforward, but the efficiency of your methods can vary widely. To get started, interact with a cooking device by clicking on it, then add your chosen ingredients to the menu that appears. Simply click ‘Cook’ to set the process in motion. Cooking individual items will yield them as-is, but if you combine two or more ingredients, you’ll unlock new recipes with better benefits.
There are several methods available for cooking. Campfires are scattered throughout the landscape and offer a basic but slower cooking option. For a more efficient approach, you can find and utilize additional tools like Fireplaces, Garden Firepits, Grills, or Gas Stoves.
These advanced cooking methods will speed things up, and you can find them by looting items from Common Crates, PVP Arenas, Bunkers, and Airdrops.
What Can You Cook?
You can cook a wide variety of ingredients, such as fish and meat that you catch, berries you forage, and vegetables or fruits you grow. Additionally, preparation of coffee and tea provides extra benefits. If you possess a Grill or another advanced cooking tool, simply click the red book icon to the left of the ‘Cook’ button to access the recipe book. This feature lists potential recipes, allowing you to explore new meals.
