Grandmaster Nightfalls in Destiny 2
Grandmaster Nightfalls represent the most challenging versions of the Vanguard Nightfalls in Destiny 2. Designed for dedicated players, these activities offer significant rewards such as Ascendant Shards, Exotic Gear, and, most importantly, a guaranteed Adept Nightfall weapon.
HyperNet Current: The First Grandmaster Nightfall of Episode Heresy
HyperNet Current kicks off the Grandmaster Nightfall cycle for Episode Heresy, taking place from February 25, 2025, to March 4, 2025. Among the upcoming Grandmasters, it’s considered one of the easier ones. If you’re aiming to farm HyperNet Current for its Adept weapon and other rewards, this guide will assist you in making the experience smoother.
Eligibility for HyperNet Current Grandmaster Nightfall
To participate in HyperNet Current, players should aim for a minimum light level of 2025. While you can enter with a lower power level, doing so significantly increases difficulty. The top power level for this Grandmaster Nightfall is 2040.
Keep in mind that once this Nightfall concludes on March 4, 2025, it won’t be available again for several weeks. The Adept weapon associated with HyperNet Current will also swap out when it returns later.
Important Note
When Bungie reopens all Grandmaster Nightfall nodes, it will primarily be for completing the Conqueror Seal. After completing a Grandmaster Nightfall, the nodes will disappear, and players can only farm the Nightfall currently available in the rotation.
Given the large number of Grandmaster Nightfalls compared to previous years, it’s important to prioritize farming HyperNet Current now. Not only are the rewards excellent, but it is also the most accessible Grandmaster Nightfall in the current cycle.
Recommended Loadouts
Hunters and Titans are best off using the Arc subclass, ideally with Gathering Storm Super for Hunters or Thundercrash for Titans. Titans should consider using Knockout for added healing, which can improve survivability. Both classes can easily trigger Bolt Charge, allowing for great synergy with seasonal mods.
If you’re opting for a Fusion rifle, ensure you have Particle Reconstruction equipped. Alternatively, use a Void weapon and activate Void Flux from the artifact for enhanced buffs. Defibrillating Blast is recommended to heal while at maximum Bolt Charge.
Warlocks can also run Arc but are best off with Well of Radiance and Healing Grenades, as well as the Speaker’s Sight helmet and Hellion Aspect for team survivability and damage. During certain waves of powerful enemies, Well of Radiance becomes crucial for team survivability.
For primary weapons, Le Monarque is an excellent choice since it quickly activates Bolt Charge and deals substantial damage, especially against the final boss. In the heavy slot, Watchful Eye with either the Jolting Feedback or Rolling Storm perks will synergize effectively with the seasonal artifact mods. You can’t go wrong with Commemoration or Corrective Measure, Void Machine Guns that take advantage of seasonal Volatile buffs.
Machine guns help deal damage to bosses and stun Overload champions, thanks to seasonal artifact mods. Lastly, Vex Mythoclast works well with Warlocks due to its strong synergy with the Solar subclass, while Fusion Rifles come equipped with both the Unstoppable mod and Particle Reconstruction, allowing for quick takedowns of Unstoppable Champions.
HyperNet Current Grandmaster Nightfall Guide
The opening segment of HyperNet Current is straightforward enough; you’ll first engage a series of basic enemies on a bridge and then face a couple of Unstoppable Champions in a cavern. It’s advisable to prioritize defeating these Champions, though you can skip other enemies if you wish once the bridge is crossed.
In the vast open area that follows, eliminate foes efficiently and climb up to an elevated platform on the right side of the arena. Eventually, a Tormentor will join the fight, which you can manage from the elevated position—just be cautious of its ranged attacks. At this point, two more Unstoppable Champions will spawn that you need to take out.
Note on Tormentor Boss
The Tormentor acts like a boss, though it doesn’t require elaborate mechanics to defeat; simply shoot it until its health depletes. However, because it’s classified as a boss, finisher moves cannot be executed when it’s low on health, so avoid attempting one to prevent an untimely death.
After the Tormentor is down, you’ll drop into a long platforming section filled with Unstoppable and Overload champions. The Grandmaster difficulty means these champions can dispatch you quickly, so play cautiously—stun, eliminate, and then proceed.
Once the platforming section is completed, you’ll arrive at the final boss arena to take on Parthenios, Drifting Mind.
Defeating Parthenios, Drifting Mind
This boss fight is relatively simple, but the risk of wipe is highest in this segment. The boss has three health sections you’ll need to chip away at strategically. Use the initial few seconds to hide behind a pillar as Parthenios spawns.
When the boss appears, deploy your Titan Barricade and Well of Radiance as you begin your damage phase. After removing the first health bar, Parthenios will gain a shield. You’ll need to destroy this shield before you can inflict damage again.
Warning
While the boss itself isn’t overly complicated, it does launch projectiles your way. Avoid attempting to tank these; instead, take cover. Two consecutive hits from the projectiles can lead to quick deaths, rendering your Well of Radiance and barricades ineffective.
Once the shield appears, look out for a wave of basic enemies along with an Overload champion. Defeating this champion and the surrounding enemies will lead to the appearance of glowing Minotaurs that drop a Cranium. Utilize the Cranium to eliminate the Taken Blights in the room, and ideally, assign one person to tackle this task while others manage enemy aggro.
Destroying the Blights will disable Parthenios’ shield, allowing you to resume your assault. After depleting the second health bar, the same mechanics will apply, resulting in more enemies and another Overload champion. Follow the same strategy to finish off the boss.
