Date Everything: Meet the Sassy Chap
In the world of Date Everything, you have a surprising variety of characters to interact with—some are people, while others are, well, inanimate objects with personalities! You’ll find plenty to appreciate and even a few to dislike. But it’s not merely about items; the game offers a range of unique personalities to discover.
Among the mysterious characters is the Sassy Chap, someone you’d likely overlook if you didn’t have the right clues. He’s a special character worth tracking down because he stands out from the rest.
Locating the Sassy Chap
The Sassy Chap is one of the hidden Dateables in the game. Interestingly, he isn’t represented as a physical character in the 3D space. To find him, you’ll get a tip through Phoenicia, who may mention a particularly hard-to-find Dateable. This will lead you to the Sassy Chap, who is actually just a few taps away—literally in your phone.
To unlock him, you’ll need to put on the Dateviators and access your phone. A new option will appear that allows you to view the credits. Once selected, the credits will start scrolling. From here, just hold the button as you would for any Dateable, and the Sassy Chap will come to life!
Make sure you still have some charge on your Dateviators to wake him up.
Once you’ve got him animated, you’ll recognize him: the Sassy Chap is the mascot of Date Everything and symbolizes both the game and its creators. So, when you engage with him, you’re essentially engaging with the entire studio.
After your initial interaction, you can revisit him anytime through the credits.
How Dating the Sassy Chap Works
Unlike other Dateables, who are usually singular characters, the Sassy Chap represents a collective—all 33 developers involved in the game’s creation. This makes your path to “winning his heart” a bit different: it involves participating in a dating game show!
In the show, the Sassy Chap plays the host while you take on the role of the contestant. You won’t just be aiming for his affections; you’re out to impress every developer who contributed to the game. Each developer will ask you a question, and your responses will affect your relationship with them.
Here’s how it breaks down:
- Love Ending: 2 points
- Friend Ending: 1 point
- Hate Ending: -1 point
To score a Love ending, you need 30 points or more. Anything lower will lead to a Friend ending, while a negative score means the developers will not be fond of you.
With 33 developers, the maximum score you can achieve is 66 points. However, scoring enough Friend endings can still lead to a Love ending, provided you avoid Hate responses.
You have the flexibility to reset your score at any time, allowing you to experience all three endings in one playthrough.
A Quick Break Between Developers
It can be quite the undertaking to chat with all 33 developers, so feel free to take breaks between conversations. You can return to your dialogue with the Sassy Chap whenever you’re ready.
