Both fans and critics are singing praises for Lies Of P: Overture. While the downloadable content (DLC) has generally been well-received, it’s not without its criticisms. Many players voiced concerns about the surprisingly high damage dealt by regular enemies.
Fortunately, the developers at NEOWIZ listened to the feedback. They’ve worked to balance the game’s difficulty in this latest patch, along with addressing various bugs, adding even more polish to an already impressive DLC. Below, we’ll detail all the changes made!
Easier Access to Overture DLC in New Game Plus
One improvement players will appreciate is the ability to access the Overture DLC more easily during a second playthrough of Lies Of P. Now, players won’t need to complete the section involving the Krat Hotel attack. Simply unlocking the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer in the fifth chapter will grant access to the new content.

Major Balance Changes in Patch 1.9
The image above has been edited; however, the health bars shown are accurate based on damage from the same attack.
Alongside these balance changes, the patch also includes multiple bug fixes. One of the most significant updates addresses difficulty levels, with a couple of key adjustments made:
- Enemy attack power and health have been adjusted for the initial Overture run.
- Overall difficulty has been reconfigured for New Game Plus runs.
While specific base mode changes couldn’t be tested, feedback suggests these adjustments affect all enemies in the Overture DLC, aligning their damage with that of standard enemies from the main game.
So, how significant is the difficulty adjustment for New Game Plus? I conducted some comparisons using previous gameplay footage. After resetting my stats for uniformity and matching equipment, I found that enemies took about the same number of hits to defeat. However, their damage output was noticeably lower.
While the patch didn’t cut enemy damage in half, they definitely hit less hard. It seems safe to say that enemies are now dealing around 40% less damage. The days of typical enemies defeating P in just two hits during Legendary Stalker mode seem to be over.
Keep in mind, my limited footage only allowed for comparisons in the Archon Fleet Shipwrecks area, so it’s possible that adjustments vary by enemy type.
What Bugs Were Fixed in Patch 1.9?
In addition to balance adjustments, the patch fixed several bugs. One major fix involved the Old Fisherman’s quest, where some players found it wouldn’t advance after delivering beer to Salao. If you faced this issue, simply reload your game to see the resolution.
Furthermore, some players didn’t receive the Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive and Winter Festival Peaked Hat, both meant to be distributed during the last patch. This issue has now been fixed, so if you missed out on either item, restart your game and check your inventory.
Players wielding Monad’s Rose Sword will be pleased to know that using the sword’s fable art will no longer launch you into the air. Additional fixes include the resolution of a visual bug with the Flamberge and ensuring that the Solutionist’s Amulet effect doesn’t remain active once unequipped. Lastly, various translation errors and other unspecified minor issues have been addressed.
