The Scourge of the Skies is a boss fought on Shrike Island in Act 4 of Path of Exile 2. Defeating this boss is essential to progress in the story, as it helps unlock more memories of the Hooded Ones and moves you closer to finding the missing weapon pieces.
This boss fight is similar to the one in the Trials of Chaos in Act 3. However, the arena on Shrike Island is smaller, making it more challenging to dodge the boss’s attacks. This guide will help you understand its attack patterns so you can better prepare for the battle.
Location of the Scourge of the Skies
You can find this boss on Shrike Island, which you reach by sailing on the Aurora May under Captain Makoru’s command. Since each map in Path of Exile 2 is randomly generated, the boss’s exact location changes. Be sure to explore the entire island thoroughly. During your exploration, look for a cave with a corpse inside—it contains another important piece of the treasure map.
Boss Overview
The Scourge of the Skies is resistant to Cold damage and weak to Fire damage. It inflicts physical damage with its attacks. During the fight, large chunks of tainted viscera will fall from the sky, dealing heavy damage. These projectiles can instantly kill under-leveled players and will also cause stunning if enough hit you.
Boss Fight Tips
This boss can be tricky if you’re not familiar with its attack patterns. During the battle, it will occasionally vomit out smaller versions of itself called Plaguelings. These creatures have their own health bar and need to be defeated quickly, as they tend to chase players around and can be a nuisance.
The boss’s most dangerous attack is the Viscera From The Sky. When it prepares this attack, black goop falls from the sky and follows your movements. The boss will rear up on its back legs before initiating this move. To avoid damage, keep moving and stay close to the boss. Staying near allows you to dodge its physical strikes more easily by circling around it.
Whenever the boss releases Viscera, be sure to dodge the falling goop. If hit, it can cause Maim status effects or slow or stun you, making it easier for the boss to land additional hits. Keeping mobile and attentive to these attack cues will increase your chances of winning this challenging encounter.
