Date Everything features an interesting twist on dating. Instead of traditional companions, you’re matching with the personalities of everyday appliances and furniture. It may sound odd, but some of these objects are quite endearing.
One standout character is Arma, your fire alarm. She’s a bit high-strung and always on edge, and she might even make you feel like you have a lingering ringing in your ears. However, she also has her own past traumas, and you have the chance to help her heal.
How to Meet Arma
While most of the dateable objects in your home are easy to find, Arma can be a bit elusive. In fact, she’s one of the smaller items in your house. When was the last time you looked up at your ceiling, either in real life or in a game? Arma is nestled among the fire alarms throughout your home, primarily located downstairs. You’ll find one next to the TV as you step into the living room, and another on the ceiling in the dining room or kitchen. To engage with her, just use your Dateviators to bring her to life and enjoy some lively chats!
Helping Arma Find Her Purpose
As you converse with Arma, you’ll uncover her unresolved issues. Her job requires her to be constantly prepared for emergencies, which means she often sees the worst of situations. This has left her struggling to relax.
Learning About the Housefire
As you get to know Arma better, she’ll share some of her past experiences. At a previous home, she witnessed a neighboring house go up in flames, along with everything inside it. Though it wasn’t entirely her responsibility, it left a lasting mark on her psyche. Since then, she’s taken it upon herself to ensure that the house she’s in remains safe.
This overwhelming sense of duty causes her to stay tense and unable to unwind. Although her incessant beeping may be annoying, it’s crucial to show her empathy. She’s in need of support to help ease her fears.
Dealing With a Fire
Your next interaction with Arma will begin peacefully until, out of nowhere, she starts beeping, claiming there’s a fire in the house. Given the number of false alarms she’s had and her low battery status, you might be tempted to dismiss her concern.
You’ll have two choices here: check out the fire or tell her she’s overreacting. This choice will significantly impact how her storyline unfolds, so choose wisely.
-
Check Out the Fire
If you decide to investigate, you’ll dash to the bathroom where Arma believes the fire is occurring—and this time, she’s right! Some toilet paper caught fire, potentially made worse by Sinclaire. Thankfully, Arma quickly springs into action, rallying support to extinguish the flames.
This reassures Arma that she’s still effective in her role and suggests she deserves a break to recharge for future emergencies.
-
Tell Her She’s Overreacting
Choosing this option results in Arma shutting off her alarm. Unfortunately, the situation escalates as you soon discover that there was, indeed, a fire in the bathroom. While others manage to put it out, Arma will hold a grudge against you for making her face a traumatic reminder of her past.
As a result, you will receive a Hate ending, cutting you off from further interactions with her storyline.
To continue Arma’s story, be sure to check out the fire. This choice will keep the door open for her other endings, as well.
Breaking Bad Habits
After a much-needed pause, you’ll discover that Arma struggles to relax. She throws herself into activities, treating each as a new mission, and easily gets swayed by others. She literally doesn’t know how to take a break and ends up picking up some unhealthy habits.
In a twist of irony, Arma befriends a group of cigarettes, disregarding her own worst fears in the process. When you suggest she stop, she reacts negatively, feeling it’s hypocritical for you to tell her to relax and then urge her to engage in something harmful.
At this point, you’ll face a series of important dialogue options. You’ll need to pass three SPECS checks for Poise, Smarts, and Charm, each requiring a threshold of 70 points. Achieving one of these is necessary for the Love ending. However, if you fail, you can still secure a Friend ending, though pursuing a romantic relationship will be challenging.
If successful in passing the checks, Arma will realize that being friends with cigarettes doesn’t align with her responsibilities as a fire alarm. She’ll eventually push them aside, although she may not be ready to speak with you just yet. Remain hopeful; this is a promising outcome.
How to Change Your Relationship Status With Arma
Like every other dateable character in the game, Arma offers three different endings. However, you can reach one of her endings sooner than the others. Here’s how to unlock all of them:
Love
To achieve Arma’s Love ending, show her care and understanding. She’s been through a lot and needs to learn how to unwind. Help her relax without downplaying her fears. Nurture her feelings whenever she’s worried, even if they’re unfounded, and assure her that it’s alright to take breaks. If she starts falling into negative habits, guide her back to safety because those issues feed her fears. Do all this, and she’ll appreciate your help deeply.
Friendship
As with other dateables, you have the option to take the Friend ending with Arma if you’ve reached the Love ending requirements already. Otherwise, steer her in the right direction while being firm in your critiques of her behavior to treat her like a friend. Address her fire concerns but suggest she tone it down—she’ll recognize your good intentions, but it will create a distance preventing a romantic relationship.
Hate
Arma’s Hate ending is attainable quite early in her story, sometimes without intending to trigger it. When she expresses alarm about a fire in the bathroom, if you opt to tell her she’s overreacting, you’ll miss the mark this time.
Overlooking the actual fire will force Arma to relive her traumatic memories from when she faced the devastation of a fire. Consequently, she will harbor resentment towards you, and there will be no path to redemption.
