Venturing into the Horns of the South in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon means teaming up with the legendary Keepers. These brave souls guard a fort overlooking the sea, risking their lives to keep the lighthouse lit in the face of impending doom. Unfortunately, not every Keeper has the chance to retire peacefully.
Many will meet their end tragically while on duty. Each Keeper carries unique dog tags that identify them, which can be collected and traded for gold. We’ll guide you in tracking down all 13 missing Keepers so you can claim your rewards from the Quartermaster.
As you navigate the Horns of the South, you’ll discover 13 dog tags on the remains of fallen Keepers. Many of these are cleverly concealed in perilous locations, telling the stories of their final moments. Collecting them will assist you in finishing the Brothers In Arms quest and offer closure to their lost souls.
Since the game doesn’t track which tags you’ve already found, it’s a good idea to keep notes or a list to save you some time.
Here is a list of all the locations of Keeper dog tags and how to find them.
Finding Ninian’s Tags
When you begin at the Island Asylum, your first aim should be to enter the locked laboratory. You can either snatch the key from a Red Priest or break in using a pickaxe found in the hallway. Inside, you’ll encounter Ninian.
Ninian is in the later stages of the Red Plague and is in pain. Speaking with him provides context about his situation, and he shares his last wish: to return his dog tags to the Quartermaster in the Horns of the South. After ending his suffering, loot the tags from his body.
You can also defeat him without conversing to get the tags.
Finding the Starting Beach Tag
After washing ashore at the Horns of the South, head northwest up the rocks towards a small camp. You’ll find a Corpse Eater feasting here, so take them out and search the ledge for a body.
Pick up the dog tags found here, and don’t forget to loot the Keeper’s armor if you’re looking for better starter gear than what you have from the island.
Finding the Flooded Mine Entrance Tag

Continue heading west along the shore until you reach the ruined beach filled with wrecked ships and Drowners. The entrance to the Flooded Mine is hidden among the cliffs, and you’ll find the fallen Keeper by the burning campfire to the west.
Defeat the Drowners and Corpse Eaters here, then collect the tags from the Keeper’s remains. Your next task is to venture inside the mine itself.
Finding the Flooded Mine Tag

Once inside the mines, you’ll need to fight through peasants and Corpse Eaters. Swim past the lowered portcullis, then dive under the bridge and navigate the gap in the rocks. While you’ll find several treasure chests, the true treasure is the Keeper’s body lodged underneath the rubble.
Search the Keeper for dog tags and then resurface for air. Afterward, exit the mine and proceed to your next location.
Finding the Redcap Camp Tag

South of the keep, along a narrow shoreline, you’ll encounter an encampment of Redcaps. Defeat these goblin-like foes, then enter the nearby wooden hut.
Inside, you’ll find the body of another unfortunate Keeper who fell prey to them. Gather his dog tags and leave the beach behind.
Finding the Ravine Tag

Between the lighthouse and the keep, a hapless Keeper lies trapped. Carefully descend into the ravine or swim along the shore to get down safely.
Loot his remains for dog tags and an Origin Potion, which can help you respec your characters and reset your skill points.
Finding the Lighthouse Tag

Climb the bridges leading to the lighthouse, then pause at the doors. Turn left and circle around the side to find a chest of goodies and yet another fallen Keeper.
Claim the dog tags from his body and take the treasure for yourself; after all, who else will?
Finding Pate’s Tag
Pate presents a unique case. He’s located along the northern wall of the fort, watching over the Sunken Village. Speak to him, and he’ll ask you to read a letter for him since he can’t read himself. The contents reveal some bleak news. Be truthful with him, then wait.
A few days later, you’ll discover Pate’s body at the cliffs below his post, overlooking the sea. It seems he couldn’t cope with the news. Retrieve the dog tags and remember him.
Finding the Sunken Village Tags
Two dog tags can be located in the Sunken Village. One is in a stone room accessed via scaffolding on the shore, while the other is on the top floor of an adjacent wooden shack.
Beware; the village is teeming with various monsters, so make sure you’re prepared to raid the remains of this ancient area to survive.
Finding the King’s Road Bridge Tag

To the west of the King’s Road bridge, far below the ruins, lies a large rock surrounded by cows and wolves. Here rests the body of a fallen Keeper.
Watch out for wolves on your way; make sure to collect their pelts before leaving.
Finding the East Gate Tag

At the East Gate, you’ll encounter Fingerless Colm. Make your way through the Gallows surrounding the keep, then climb the scaffolding to reach the gate.
Continue south to the ruins of the gate to find Fingerless Colm leaning over a body. Take him out, collect his bounty, and then retrieve the dog tags.
Finding the Forgotten Cemetery Tag

Finally, you’ll find a Keeper in the Forgotten Cemetery crypt while completing the Dead as Dreams quest. Take the secret passage across from Yorath’s base.
Navigate through the tunnel in the crypt until you reach an alcove with a view of the main chamber. Here, you’ll discover a body hidden in the shadows. Collect the dog tags to complete your set.
