Finding Etherbloom in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Hunting for ingredients in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon can be tricky, especially if you’re just wandering around looking for specific items like carnations. Most ingredients for potions and food are scattered across various locations, but Etherbloom is a special case.
Etherbloom is a naturally occurring plant that you can find in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, but instead of needing to collect it in small amounts, this ingredient can be found in large quantities if you know where to look.
What Is Etherbloom?
Etherbloom is a unique crafting material that appears during the night when the Wyrd comes out. It provides a boost of 15 mana over ten seconds, costs four coins, and is quite light at only 0.01 units. Fortunately, it’s not just used for quests; you’ll find it valuable for crafting various alchemical potions as well.
Where to Find Etherbloom
Etherbloom spawns randomly at night when the Wyrd infests the world, but there are reliable locations where you can find it. A major quest, The Crumble, requires Etherbloom, so collecting it beforehand can save you time.
The prime spot for gathering Etherbloom early in the game is Smuggler’s Bay, located in the northeastern corner of the Horns of the South. It’s positioned directly northeast of the Horns of the South Keep, making it a bit out of the way—so pay attention if you’re not doing the quest.
To reach Smuggler’s Bay, fast travel to the Ruined Broch, where you faced the Ogre for Cillian in the This Is The Part Where You Run Away quest. Head east along the shoreline until you arrive.
Once there, look for a small cave along the coast and enter. You’ll encounter a guard inside.
You have a couple of options here: you can either defeat the guard or engage him in conversation to convince him he’s guarding the wrong entrance. If you go the friendly route, a successful Perception check might help.
To make it easier, you can offer him various food items to make him fall asleep, as he doesn’t require full meals.
If all else fails, tell him you need to speak with Anulf and that you’re just picking up some Etherbloom for personal use. He’ll believe you and hand over the key.
Once you’ve dealt with the guard, use the key to access the nearby locked gate, then take out any other guards you encounter. Proceed down a mining tunnel that will lead you to a treasure trove of Etherbloom, though be prepared to fight a few enemies in the process.
This area is the ultimate spot to gather Etherbloom in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, allowing you to stock up immensely each time you visit.
After a couple of trips, you’ll have an ample supply of Etherbloom and enough to complete the The Crumble quest. Instead of endlessly searching, make this your go-to location for finding Etherbloom in the game.
