Donkey Kong Bananza offers a nostalgic ride through its Challenge Courses, and none capture that feeling quite like Mine-Cart Country. As one of the engaging 2D levels in Donkey Kong Bananza, this mine cart adventure reminds players of the original Donkey Kong classics.
Located in the Resort Layer—one of the most relaxing areas in the game—this level can be somewhat elusive. It also hides a special Bananadium Gem. Luckily, we’ve got the scoop to help you uncover this charming Donkey Kong experience.
Unlocking the Sealed Level in Donkey Kong Bananza’s Resort Layer
Throughout the game, players will come across many locked levels, typically guarded by a builder who asks for 9,999 gold coins upfront before reducing the fee to 1,000 coins. However, in this case, you won’t find the builder right away, leaving you stuck at a closed level.
To find the builder, jump down from the ledge and make your way back past the Stuff Shop to the column of Liftoff Ore. There, you’ll spot the builder. After paying him some of your hard-earned gold (even if he doesn’t have traditional hands), you’ll unlock Mine-Cart Country.
Locating the Hidden Bananadium Gem in Mine-Cart Country
In Mine-Cart Country, the first and last Bananadium Gems are easy to grab. The first gem is given to you halfway through the level, while the final one is right at the end. The challenge lies in finding the middle gem.
To claim it, navigate through the Challenge Course as usual until you reach a section with gaps in the tracks. Jump over each gap until you spot a space that features three shiny golden orbs stacked in a vertical line.
When you arrive at this gap, do not jump. Instead, allow yourself to fall into the gap between the tracks; there’s a hidden path waiting for you at the bottom. This secret route will lead you directly to the middle Bananadium Gem, and afterwards, a barrel cannon will launch you back to the main track so you can complete the level as intended.
