The latest Tides of Terraria update in Palworld brings exciting features, including new gameplay mechanics, Terraria-themed creatures, and unique dungeons. This update isn’t just a minor tweak; it offers several intriguing additions such as mini-islands and the much-anticipated fishing system.
One of the new aquatic Pals you can catch while fishing is Munchill, a laid-back creature that has a unique look. According to its entry in the Palpedia, Munchill has an exceptionally cold mouth and special enzymes that prevent food from spoiling. If you’re keen on catching this distinct Pal, mastering the fishing mechanics is essential!
Where to Find Munchill
Munchill is a small, four-legged creature that resembles a blue sea animal. It can be spotted at various locations and is available at any time of the day. While its general habitat is indicated on the map, most marked areas are popular fishing spots.
One place where Munchill can roam is near the “Sea Breeze Archipelago – Castaway Beach” fast travel point, located in the southern part of the archipelago. Once you arrive, head directly south to embark on a sea journey that will take you to a small, ice-covered island known as Frostbitten Isle.
You might find Munchill on this island, specifically at coordinates -58, -964. Additionally, you can fish for Munchill in the ocean to the west of the island’s teleporter.
If Munchill doesn’t appear at Frostbitten Isle, consider checking other spots. The Frostbound Mountains is one such area, where you can fish for Munchill in the central frozen lake, located at coordinates 203, 78.
Another possible fishing location is the Isle of the Glacial Core, situated between the northwestern side of the Dessicated Desert and the northeastern end of the Astral Mountains. Its coordinates are 140, 636. While Munchill does not wander this island, you can catch it by fishing along the southeastern shore near the fast travel point or at an advanced fishing spot on the northern coast.

You can also find Munchill along some lakeshores and coastlines in the purple-soiled southern area of Feybreak Island. Since this region is vast, check specific fishing spots to boost your chances. Notable coordinates here include -1126, -1362 and -1412, -1660.
Currently, there is no known location in the game where an Alpha Munchill can be found.
How to Breed Munchill

You can also obtain Munchill by hatching it from a Frozen Egg. These eggs can be discovered while exploring. Alternatively, you may acquire Munchill by breeding certain Pals at the
Breeding Farm. The necessary combinations of Pals are listed below:
Items Dropped by Munchill

Catching or processing Munchill yields items like Pal Fluids and Munchill Meat. Pal Fluids are easy to gather and can also be farmed from lower-level Water-type Pals. However, Munchill Meat can only be obtained from Munchill.
You can use Munchill Meat to create Munchill Steak, which can be prepared at a Campfire or any compatible crafting station. Since crafting Munchill Steak requires no additional ingredients, Munchill Meat becomes particularly valuable.
Partner Skill & Work Suitability

Munchill’s partner skill is particularly useful if you’re carrying high-quality food items. Its Icy Maw ability allows food in your inventory to spoil more slowly, acting like a portable refrigerator—ideal for keeping rare meals fresh during your adventures.
If you’re planning to stay close to your base, however, Munchill’s skill may not offer much advantage. Nonetheless, if your base lacks refrigeration, having Munchill can be beneficial.
Regarding work suitability, Munchill is quite versatile. Here are its suitability levels:

For passive skills, Mastery of Fasting is a great choice, as it reduces how often Munchill gets hungry, helping you save on food. If you can’t find a Munchill with that skill, Diet Lover is another good option that similarly decreases food consumption.
However, there isn’t a specific passive skill that excels for Munchill, so not having either of these isn’t a significant drawback.
