Many of these characters each have their own lives and stories, allowing you to assist them along the way.
Take Mateo Manta, for instance. He’s a charming, sleepy character responsible for all the inanimals in the house. Recently, one of his closest friends, Davi, has gone missing. To help Mateo and everyone else in the house have a happy ending, you’ll need to embark on a quest to find Davi along with any other inanimals that have strayed away.
What Are Inanimals
The term “inanimals” isn’t standard, but it effectively describes characters that resemble animals without being real ones. The first inanimal you meet is a little black cat made of wires and cables, introduced by Mateo. Although you won’t search for this specific inanimal, it sets the stage for what to look for as you progress in the game.
Interestingly, you’ll only see snippets of each inanimal instead of full 3D models. Creating full models for characters that appear just once is tricky business. Still, you’ll be able to spot them when they’re hiding, as they’ll only become visible when you’re on the hunt.
Starting The Inanimal Search
Your quest to locate the inanimals begins with a conversation with Mateo. He will explain that Davi has disappeared alongside some other inanimals. To find Davi, you will also need to track down these missing friends—four in total.
Once you finish talking, Mateo will suggest reaching out to Phoenicia. She can help by posting an alert on social media to expand the search. Head over to her, and she’ll agree to help. After a day, return to Mateo and let him know about Phoenicia’s post, and he’ll express his gratitude. In fact, he’s already heard a rumor from Hoove. Time to investigate further!
If you haven’t already met him, Hoove can be found in the utility room closet, where the sink, washing machine, and dryer are located. As you might guess, he’s the vacuum.
Where To Find Each Inanimal
When you chat with Hoove, he’ll mention spotting a snake-like inanimal nearby. From here, rumors will start flowing that will guide you to each inanimal until you find them all. So, let’s get searching!
Keep in mind, interacting with an inanimal counts as engaging with Mateo. Thus, you can’t find an inanimal on the same day you talk to him, or vice versa.
Pythorn, The Serpentine Inanimal
Pythorn is the first inanimal you’ll need to locate. While you don’t have to chat with Hoove for them to appear, they’ll be available after you’re pointed in his direction. Pythorn can be spotted perched on the windowsill above the laundry basket, resembling a small green vine with spikes. Interact with Pythorn to add them to your collection.
Once you’ve found Pythorn, return to Mateo, who will be thrilled to see the first inanimal back safe.
Springtail, The Mouse Inanimal
Next up is Springtail, a mouse-like inanimal. After returning with Pythorn, Mateo will encourage you to speak with Nelly, who has information on another inanimal. Nelly will reveal that he spotted a mouse tangled in Connie’s wires.
Nelly is represented by the two TVs located in the upstairs gym and the living room, while Connie is the console beneath Nelly in the living room.
Check the table where the TV stands in the living room. Underneath, you’ll find Connie, and in the adjacent section, look for a lump that resembles a TV remote. Interact with it to uncover Springtail. As before, return to Mateo the next day to continue your search.
Stitch, The Tassel Hound Inanimal
With Springtail returned, Mateo shares that Stepford believes he has heard about another inanimal. Head over to see what he knows.
Stepford is the shelf of awards in the upstairs gym, just in case you haven’t discovered him yet.
After chatting with Stepford, he’ll mention strange noises coming from the closet nearby. Peek inside—there are various characters to speak with, so be cautious about who you interact with. It’s easier to avoid mistakes if you don’t have the Dateviators equipped.
Amidst some boxes, you’ll spot loose tassels, which indicate you’ve found Stitch. With this inanimal discovered, return to Mateo once again.
Davi, The Dog Inanimal
Bring Stitch back to Mateo, and you’ll be greeted with another surprise. Just as you finish collecting the other inanimals, Davi rushes back in, bounding right to Mateo. Overjoyed, Mateo embraces Davi, who looks more like a traditional pet compared to the others.
And just like that, your quest to locate the inanimals has concluded!
What Is The Reward For Finding All The Inanimals?
After all your hard work, what’s the payoff? A few delightful rewards! When you next talk to Mateo, you’ll unlock his ultimate collectible, which is always satisfying to complete. Additionally, you’ll earn the ‘Inanimal Control’ achievement or trophy—a nice bonus!
Notably, you might unlock the ‘Inanimal Control’ achievement before returning Stitch to Mateo, even though it’s tied to Davi’s discovery. The trophy image features Stitch, despite the unlocking criteria related to Davi. Quite strange!
Finally, you’ll be able to wrap up Mateo’s storyline. If you’ve been kind and flirty, you can easily achieve a romantic ending with him. Alternatively, choose to remain friends or even enemies—it’s hard to imagine wanting a negative outcome after the effort you put into finding his beloved inanimals.
