Completing the Quest: Solving Banandium Gems in Thorn-Choked Conveyor

Thorn-Choked Conveyor is an early challenge stage in Donkey Kong Bananza found in the Lagoon Layer. As the name suggests, this area is packed with sharp thorns that can quickly drain your health if you’re not cautious.

Your task is to navigate around the thorns scattered throughout the stage to reach the exit and discover the hidden Banandium Gems along the way. Collecting these gems is essential for boosting your skill points to unlock new moves and abilities, but gathering them all can be quite tricky.

Finding the First Banandium Gem

The first Banandium Gem is located along the main path, just past two treadmills moving in opposite directions. Watch out for the thorns while you make your way, and punch the gem to add it to your collection.

Finding the Second Banandium Gem

This is the most challenging Banandium Gem in the game. It’s tucked away behind a section of thorns on the left wall while you’re on the purple treadmill. To reveal it, use R2 to grab an explosive rock that will clear the thorns, allowing you to reach the gem.

Finding the Third Banandium Gem

The last Banandium Gem is at the very end of the challenge stage, right next to the barrel that launches you back to the Lagoon Layer. Just make it to the end of the level to claim your reward and pick up a possible skill point.

Conquering Thorn-Choked Conveyor

The biggest hurdle in this stage is the vines covering parts of the walls and floor. If you’ve faced a similar situation in the Ingot Isle Cave-In, you should know how to use R2 to lift sections of the floor as a weapon—this will be crucial for surviving here.

Once you start, step onto the first treadmill ahead of you and use R2 to pick up a large rock. Hit Y to swing the rock, which will clear the vines blocking your path. Keep repeating this until you reach the first Banandium Gem.

As you move forward, you’ll notice that the floor has changed, and there are many more thorns in your way. Press R2 while standing on the purple floor to pick up an explosive rock you can throw to demolish larger patches of thorns. Hold R2 while carrying a rock to aim more effectively.

Keep picking up and throwing explosives until you reach the end of the level, where you can grab the final Banandium Gem and head back to the main layer in search of more secrets.
