Completing the Quest for the Middle Banandium Gem in DK Bananza

Red-Hot Rotations is a Challenge Course found in the Freezer Layer of Donkey Kong Bananza. It might sound strange at first, but it fits the theme well since hot lava is a key feature here that players need to avoid.

Like many Challenge Courses, the first and last Banandium Gems are easy to find. The first gem is right in the middle along the main path, while the last gem is at the end, just before you exit. The second gem is the tricky one, but we’re here to help you find it.

Where To Find The Missing Banandium Gem In Red-Hot Rotations

The second Banandium Gem is located at the end of the course. When you reach the final platform with the gem in sight, run straight across from where you just climbed up. You’ll find a secret ledge below.

Drop down and wait for a gap in the lava. If you move quickly, you can get to the ledge you just climbed. Hold onto the wall until it’s clear, then shimmy to the right with the lava rotations until you reach the hidden alcove. Inside, you’ll find the secret Banandium Gem and a barrel cannon to take you back up.

How To Complete Red-Hot Rotations

If you’re having a hard time getting started in Red-Hot Rotations, don’t worry. The key is to simply get going.

Throughout the level, you will see rotating lava circles. These circles can be on the floor or around columns. Near these, you’ll encounter stone sphere enemies that speed up and charge at you. Hit these enemies once to expose their gold core, then hit them again to push them into the lava and clear a path.

After clearing the path, all you need to do is run into the safe areas and keep moving until you reach the top of the tower.
