In Dune: Awakening, you can discover a range of resources scattered across Arrakis. However, if you’re looking for Plasteel Microflora Fibers, you’ll need to focus your search, as they can only be found in particular locations. This can make them a bit tricky to locate, but once you know where to look, gathering them becomes straightforward.
Getting these fibers early in the game is crucial since they play a key role in crafting superior armor and weapons. It’s a good idea to stockpile a considerable quantity, as you’ll often be on the lookout for improved gear. If you’re having trouble finding Plasteel Microflora Fibers, this guide is here to help.
How to Locate Plasteel Microflora Fibers
Currently, the main method to obtain and farm these fibers involves exploring various shipwrecks throughout Arrakis. When you start Dune: Awakening, you’re guided through a side mission called Wrecking Crew in Hagga Basin South, where you’ll explore The Wreck of the Alcyon.
As you engage with the wreck, you’ll encounter chests that contain various amounts of fibers.
Keep in mind, these shipwrecks are often PvP areas. This makes traversing them challenging, as you’ll need to be alert for both enemy NPCs and players.
This particular region is your only opportunity to find Plasteel Microflora Fibers initially. Once you venture beyond the starting zone to places like East and West Vermillius Gap, you’ll uncover more options.
For instance, if you’re in East Vermillius Gap, you can find fibers in The Wreck of the Actaeon. Similarly, on the western side, there’s The Wreck of the Pallas.
A good rule of thumb is to search for shipwrecks whenever you enter a new area. The sooner you locate and collect fibers, the more crafting opportunities you’ll have back at your base.
In every new area you explore, consider crafting and deploying Survey Beacons. These will point out important locations, including shipwrecks, nearby.
It’s also important to note that these fibers respawn in the same spots after some time. So, if you find yourself low on them, it’s worth waiting a bit and then returning to the wreck.
These wrecks are often found in the open desert, which increases the risk of encountering sandworms. To maneuver more efficiently across large expanses of desert, consider using a sandbike.
While traveling, the sandbike can help you escape from approaching sandworms, so be sure to craft one when possible.
