In Season Nine of Diablo 4, there’s a reputation system called Horadric Knowledge. As you level up in this system, you unlock various rewards. For new players, the sheer amount of content in Season 9 can be overwhelming, and, true to Diablo 4’s usual style, the mechanics behind it aren’t well explained.
Gaining rewards from Horadric Knowledge can significantly improve your gameplay, making it essential to prioritize leveling up this feature as you explore Sanctuary. This guide will provide you with all the info you need to effectively farm Horadric Knowledge.
Unlocking Horadric Knowledge
This system won’t be automatically available when you start a new character in the Seasonal Realm for Season 9. Once you enter the game, head over to Cerrigar and speak with Bryona to start the seasonal questline titled The Embers Yet Smoldering.
If the quest isn’t there, make sure you’ve completed the main storyline of Diablo 4 first.
After chatting with the NPC, you’ll need to tackle a Horadric Strongroom. These Strongrooms are located within Nightmare Dungeons and are typically packed with elite enemies. Ensure you have a solid team or strong gear before diving in.
Once you defeat the boss in the Strongroom, return to Cerrigar to speak with Bryona again.
This will unlock the Horadric Knowledge System for your use.
Acquiring Horadric Knowledge
You can level up this reputation system in a few ways. The easiest option is to participate in any Helltides.
These world events scale to your current level, making it a great way to farm for Horadric Knowledge.
To earn knowledge, defeat all the enemies during Helltide events. Sticking around for the full event duration can maximize your Horadric Knowledge gains.
If you’re a higher-level player, consider running through the previously mentioned Horadric Strongrooms in Nightmare Dungeons. However, be warned: this can be challenging, as you’ll need to defeat waves of enemies within 100 seconds.
If you possess a Nightmare Sigil, you’ll almost certainly find a Nightmare Dungeon with a Horadric Strongroom.
To uncover more Nightmare Dungeons featuring Horadric Strongholds, play on harder difficulties.
This method proves effective if you’re equipped to handle numerous elite foes.
Utilizing Horadric Knowledge
In contrast to other resources in Diablo 4 that you can collect, Horadric Knowledge is allocated to the Horadric Knowledge ranking system. To see how much you have, head to Cerrigar.
While in town, locate Bryona and search for an object called Horadric Focus nearby.
By clicking on this object, a window will appear showing your current rank and a progress bar indicating what you need to earn for the next rank. This window will list all available rewards, including those you’ve already gained.
Unfortunately, this system can only be checked in Cerrigar. You’ll need to return to town regularly to keep track of your rank and claim any rewards you may have earned.
