Gathering resources in Palia can be a mixed bag. While some items are plentiful, others, like the elusive Batterfly Beans, can feel like they’re hiding when you need them the most. It’s frustrating when you’re on the hunt for that perfect item, only to find it’s nowhere in sight—despite being everywhere else.
These Batterfly Beans can be found in Elderwood Forest, but they often seem scarce when you’re looking to use them for a quest or to whip up some Bean Burgers. Here’s how to track down these tricky little beans.
How to Find Batterfly Beans
Foraging
Finding Batterfly Beans can be challenging due to their low spawn rate compared to other plants in Elderwood. While you can spot Elderwood Orchids and Piksii Berries quite easily, you’ll specifically need to look around the bases of large, twisted trees with blue leaves for the beans.
You’re most likely to find these trees in areas like Mitana Grove, Honeymiel Slope, Mauvais Way, Okanaa Bog, and parts of Deep Woods.
Farming
Due to the low spawn rate, the best strategy to ensure you have plenty of Batterfly Beans is to plant them in your garden. This method not only guarantees a more consistent supply but also yields about five times more beans than gathering them in Elderwood.
When foraging, you’ll often come across some Batterfly Bean seeds. To plant them in your plot, ensure you have a two-by-two space ready. Keep the plants watered, and they should take about six in-game days to mature. Once fully grown, you can harvest them around four to five times before needing to replant. Plus, any crops nearby will benefit from a harvest boost when planted next to your beans.
If you have access to a Seed Collector, use it to obtain more Batterfly Bean seeds. This way, you’ll never run out of beans again!
