In The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you’ll discover a variety of questlines, each offering a distinct adventure. These missions include guild-specific tasks, region-focused objectives, and assignments linked to specific factions. Generally, these quests revolve around certain characters, with you stepping in as the hero to provide assistance.
One faction to encounter is the Black Bandits. Upon arriving in Leyawiin and meeting the Count, he will ask you to eliminate this troublesome group. After handling them, you’ll need to return to the Count with proof of your success to receive a reward.
This quest isn’t documented in your journal, and you can undertake it multiple times at your leisure.
How to Start the Black Bow Bandits Quest
Once you complete both the Mazoga the Orc quest and the Knights of the White Stallion quest, you’ll earn a key to the White Stallion Lodge, located north of Leyawiin.
After receiving knighthood, the Count will request that you bring him Black Bows as proof of defeating the Black Bandits. For every bow you deliver, you will earn 100 Gold.
At the lodge, you can rest and treat it as your own home, but Mazoga will also be present, intent on collecting these Black Bows for herself.
You can choose to complete this quest on your own or team up with Mazoga.
How to Complete the Black Bow Bandits Quest
If you opt to hunt for these Black Bows alone, there are several locations near the lodge where the bandits can be found:
- Telepe, northwest of Leyawiin
- Rockmilk Cave, situated between Bravil and Leyawiin
- Undertow Cavern, located to the north of Leyawiin
Inside these caves, you’ll encounter Black Bandits. Simply defeat them and loot their bodies to obtain a Black Bow.
If you decide to go with Mazoga, it’s important to know her schedule. She visits the same three locations but on specific days:
- On Morndas, she heads to Telepe.
- On Middas, she ventures to Rockmilk Cave.
- Finally, on Turdas, she visits Undertow Cavern.
You can just arrive at the lodge around 2 PM when she leaves on her designated days and then follow her to fight the bandits.
Keep in mind that Mazoga will also loot the corpses for Black Bows, but you can always pickpocket her later to get the gold for yourself.
