In Dune: Awakening, having a buggy can be incredibly valuable. This vehicle enables you to transport significantly more items, making it easier to move resources between bases. Additionally, it streamlines the process of resource gathering. However, it’s important to note that the buggy requires more maintenance and attention compared to other vehicles.
As a result, crafting a buggy is a bit complex and involves several steps. But once you’ve built it, navigating the unpredictable terrain of Arrakis can become much easier. This guide will explain how to obtain a buggy in Dune: Awakening.
How to Craft a Buggy
To unlock the buggy’s blueprint, you’ll need to advance in the Research Menu. Check the Steel section of the Vehicle Tab for the schematic.
Once you’ve accumulated 15 Intel Points, you can unlock the buggy bundle, which consists of the rear, chassis, hull, engine, power supply unit, and treads. Remember that, similar to the sandbike, you will need to craft four treads to make the buggy operational.
Additionally, there are separate schematics for the buggy’s storage, cutter, and booster. These can also be found in the Steel section of the Vehicle tab.
While you have the schematic, you will still need to craft each component using the resources listed below. If you’re at the mid-game point in Dune: Awakening, you should have access to most of these resources in ample quantities.
How to Build the Buggy
When you have all the components ready, you can create them using a fabricator. However, this won’t be the same machine you used for the sandbike; you need to build a Vehicle Fabricator, which will cost around five Intel Points.
Once all parts—including the four treads—are crafted, use a Welding Torch to assemble everything. A basic torch will suffice, but for faster results, it’s advisable to use the Welding Torch Mk3.
The buggy is slower than the sandbike and can create a lot of noise, making it easier for sandworms to attack. Be cautious when venturing into the open desert.
Additionally, the buggy uses more fuel than the sandbike. Before you head out, be sure to craft several medium-sized Vehicle Fuel Cells to avoid running out of fuel.
How to Find a Buggy
Crafting a buggy can be simpler, but it takes time due to the number of resources needed. Alternatively, you can find buggies scattered throughout the world and “borrow” them. However, this method can prove to be quite challenging.
For an easier way to find a buggy, check enemy outposts on Arrakis. Many players have reported success at the Southern Comms stronghold, located in the eastern section of the Eastern Shield Wall.
Luckily, the buggy isn’t deeply buried within enemy territory. Look for a garage-like structure at the base of the stronghold, where the vehicle will be located inside. Make sure to clear the area before taking the buggy.
