Welcome to the Dark Realm in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. Your first journey takes you through the shadowy streets of Dark Tsukudo-cho in chapter one. As you navigate these unsettling paths, take some time to level up since you’ll be facing a tough boss battle soon.
Before you can return to the normal world, you must confront Tsuchigumo, the giant demon in the Dark Realm who has kidnapped a local schoolgirl in a ploy to draw you into combat. Here’s a guide to help you defeat Tsuchigumo and rescue Rin!
How to Defeat Tsuchigumo
Once you’ve fully explored the Dark Tsukudo-cho area in your quest from chapter one, you will face Tsuchigumo after the challenging Nethergate fight, and find Rin unconscious. A brief dialogue occurs before the battle, but Gouto-Doji will interrupt to teach you how to use Devil’s Bane against Tsuchigumo. This can only be done if you:
- Perfectly evade during the fight, a skill Gouto showed you earlier in the Dark Realm.
- Unleash a flurry of attacks to throw the demon off-balance.
When Gouto signals that the time is right, unleash your attack on Tsuchigumo. Be prepared for a tough fight, as you’ll now need to take on two Tsuchigumo demons at once, and without a pre-charged Devil’s Bane.

Given these vulnerabilities, your best strategy is to use Azumi for offense, as it’s likely your strongest demon with Frost abilities. You’ll have learned how to make Raidou Kuzunoha use his Cryo Sign attack with his sword from Gouto just before engaging in battle, so make sure to utilize it and execute Cryo Sign as frequently as you can.
For your second slot in the Configuration menu, you can pick any shikigami. We chose Pixie for its healing abilities, but Azumi works as solid backup for Cryo magic.
These Tsuchigumo spiders will put up quite a fight, as you’ll need to break their elemental shields first before you can inflict any damage. Attacking while they still have their shields intact, even with your Cryo spells and Azumi’s help, will deal no damage, so don’t waste any attacks until their shields are down.
Once their shields are offline, you will have a brief window of opportunity where Tsuchigumo is open to your sword strikes. Pay attention to the animation that signals a critical hit and make sure to unleash heavy sword attacks during this time to maximize your damage before the shields regenerate.
Fortunately, Gouto will alert you when Tsuchigumo’s shield is back up; it’s easy to get carried away attacking the demon.
After the fight, Tsuchigumo will fall, revealing little information aside from mentioning a devil summoner who appears to speak Russian. Keep this in mind as you earn ¥200 and a good amount of EXP for defeating Tsuchigumo in Dark Tsukudo-cho in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
