Completing the Path of Ambition in Destiny 2: A Guide to Solving

The Path of Ambition is a unique vendor in Destiny 2: Heresy, complete with its own ranks, rewards, and rituals that tread on dark powers. Unlike the Path of Resolve, which is accessible right away, you need to meet specific conditions to unlock Path of Ambition. To do this, first, you must collect a Tithing Wormspawn.

The easiest way to find one is by participating in the Court of Blades activity. Look under the bridge near the King’s Fall raid entrance—this is also where you’ll encounter a Tormentor during the Nether event. This guide will help you navigate everything necessary to unlock the Path of Ambition in the second act of Heresy.

Path of Ambition Walkthrough

From the Trenchway, head straight into a cave where you’ll discover a Taken Portal. This portal will transport you to a different area in the Dreadnaught. In this new location, you need to enter another Taken Portal.

Next, jump into the hole in front of you and continue dropping down until you reach a dimly lit room. From there, use the beams to climb into an open area that features a central structure surrounded by Blights.

From this structure, go through a couple more Taken Portals in the distance. You will eventually confront a Wizard named Xvaak, the Waybearer. Use any Special or Heavy weapon to take it down, capture the Hive Plate, and proceed into the Core of Corruption.

Interact with the statue to ‘Embrace Ambition,’ which will kick off a survival challenge. You’ll have to defeat waves of Taken Thralls, Captains, and War Beasts until you’re teleported back. Utilizing roaming Supers and perks like Voltshot, Chain Reaction, and Destabilizing Rounds will be beneficial here.

After that, return to Eris’s Flat in The Last City. There, interact with the Taken Orb to ‘Embrace Your Ambition’, and then use the Shaping Slab to complete the mission.
