Completing the Mentat Trainer Class in Dune: Awakening

The Mentat class in Dune: Awakening can be a bit tricky to grasp because it requires a solid strategy. Rather than charging into battle, this class emphasizes being strategic and gaining the upper hand. You’ll need to think several moves ahead of your opponents. Although they might be slower compared to other classes, a well-structured build can still inflict considerable damage.

Moreover, playing as a Mentat offers a unique gameplay experience that sets it apart from other classes. Given the vastness of Arrakis, this guide will help you locate the trainer.

Where to Locate the Mentat Trainer

To find the trainer, you need to reach the Eastern Vermillius Gap and head east. Pull up your map and look for the Hagga Rift; it will be the most eastern area in the vicinity.

As you enter this new area, you’ll start to see structures that are not just made of sand and rock. This will guide you south into the Hagga Basin.

If you continue further south, you’ll reach the Riftwatch area. Upon entering, you’ll come across a bridge that doesn’t allow access for Sandbikes. This means you’ll need to proceed on foot.

Finding the Mentat Trainer

This region is quite expansive, and since all the characters are Harkonnen, they may blend together. Fortunately, the trainer distinctly stands out, but they are somewhat hidden.

First, when you arrive at Riftwatch, head toward the large building at the rear. Once inside, you’ll find a short hallway. Continue through it, and after exiting, descend a set of stairs.

Before you proceed downstairs, look down. The Mentat Trainer will be located at the bottom right next to a blue projector. This character is named Samin Moro. After your conversation with her, you’ll need to collect Plant Fibers and then you’ll be tasked to poison enemies.

Completing this mission will eventually give you access to the Advanced Mentat Trainer, who can be found in Arrakeen.
