A number of Pokemon Go’s most formidable Pokémon can be captured through its Raiding feature. These raids are cooperative battles where players join forces to take down powerful Pokémon. Each month, the game refreshes the Pokémon available to battle, offering players new opportunities to engage and capture various characters.
In May 2025, a fresh lineup of Raid Pokémon has been introduced, featuring both Mega and Five-Star Pokémon. Below, you’ll find all the relevant details about May’s Raid Pokémon and the special events linked to raiding.
May 2025 Five-Star Raids
This month, the Pokémon available to face in Five-Star Raids will rotate, replacing last month’s selections. In total, you can encounter five different Pokémon in these raids:
Each Five-Star Raid Pokémon will be up for battle for at least a week, giving players ample time to challenge and catch them. Successfully completing each Five-Star Raid allows you to attempt to capture that legendary Pokémon, a unique opportunity for acquiring these rare creatures.
This month, depending on your region, you could encounter one of three different Pokémon during the same period.
From Monday, May 12, 2025, to Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Uxie will be available in the Asia-Pacific region, Mesprit in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, and Azelf in the Americas and Greenland.

May 2025 Mega Raids
This month, there will be just three Mega Evolutions to battle against in Mega Raids: Mega Houndoom, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Altaria.
Similar to the Five-Star Raid Pokémon available this month, you’ll have at least a week to battle against each Mega Evolution. Each successful Mega Raid rewards you with Pokémon encounters and you’ll also gain Mega Energy for the Pokémon you battled, which is essential for Mega Evolution.

May 2025 Shadow Raids: Shadow Regirock
Shadow Raids offer another way to engage with Pokémon Go each month. During these raids, you will face a specific Shadow Pokémon, giving you the chance to catch and add them to your collection.
From Sunday, May 4, 2025, to Wednesday, June 4, 2025, you’ll have the chance to battle against Shadow Regirock. These raids will only occur on weekends, so you’ll have limited time to complete these encounters each week.
You can use Purified Gems to help subdue Shadow Raid Pokémon.
May 2025 Raid Hours
Raid Hours are set to occur every Wednesday this month from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. During these hours, a special Pokémon will be featured, usually one of the Five-Star Raid Pokémon available at the time.
These Pokémon will appear more frequently in various Raid locations, giving everyone the chance to battle and catch them. Make the most of this opportunity!

May 2025 Raid Events
Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day
The Mega Kangaskhan Raid Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. During this event, Mega Kangaskhan will be available at various Raid locations.
Additionally, several Raid-focused bonuses will be active during this event, which include:
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Kangaskhan as a Raid reward.
- Receive five extra Raid Passes from Pokémon Gyms.
- Use up to 20 Remote Raid Passes.
Shadow Raid Day
