Completing the Lighthouse in Lies of P: Overture

The Frosted Cipher in Lies of P: Overture is the toughest puzzle you’ll face. However, those eager to uncover the secrets about the Alchemists and claim the unique Sherlock Holmes outfit must tackle and conquer this challenge.

While you receive the cipher early on, you’ll need to hold onto it for a while before you can access the location it reveals. Opening the cipher will require some effort, as Alidoro won’t be available to assist you this time.

Where To Find The Frosted Cipher

You’ll find the Frosted Cipher Machine at the end of the Frozen Coast area. It’s situated just before the Ship Exterior Stargazer, but getting there from that point is not possible due to a drop-off.

A tough enemy will guard the area, leaping out from the hull of a wrecked ship. You’ll need to defeat them to access the cipher’s location.

Once you’ve taken down the enemy, collect the Frosted Cipher from the nearby vault close to the drop-off leading to the Ship Exterior Stargazer.

You can’t take the Frosted Cipher to Alidoro at Eventide Hotel Krat yet, as he lacks the key to open it.

The key is actually hidden in Lumacchio’s Golden Snail Attire. After defeating Lumacchio, speak to Alidoro to unlock the Frosted Cipher.

How To Solve The Frosted Cipher’s Hint: The Lighthouse

The Frosted Cipher will instruct you to investigate the Lighthouse. If you’ve only taken down Lumacchio by the time you open it, you’ll need to progress further into the DLC.

The Lighthouse is located on the opposite side of the Fishing Village, beyond the entire Ship Interior section.

Upon reaching the Lighthouse, head downstairs to find a pressure plate that requires weight to activate it. There are two ways to utilize the pressure plate:

Gather enough equipment and items to max out your weight.
Equip the Giant’s Amulet.

If you don’t have the Giant’s Amulet yet, you can buy it from the Wandering Merchant at the Frozen Coast near the Stargazer.

It doesn’t cost much, typically between 100-300 Ergo, making it one of the most affordable amulets in the game.

After pressing the pressure plate, the door will unlock, and you should collect the Lighthouse Keeper’s journal. Make sure to read it.

Then, return to the real Alidoro to hand over the journal. As a reward for completing this cipher alongside the others, he will give you the Famed Detective’s Attire.
