Completing the Johnny Storm Summer Skin: A Nod to One Piece?

Summer is officially here, and that means big movies, exciting game launches, and seasonal skins in Marvel Rivals. What better way to celebrate summer than seeing The Punisher in a speedo featuring his iconic skull logo?

The new skins have stirred up quite a buzz in the Rivals community, especially because of their pricing. But there’s another topic making waves, and it’s all about the One Piece anime and manga.

NetEase Games Shows Love for One Piece

Miller Ross, a reliable insider for Marvel Rivals, recently shared a sneak peek of the summer skins coming to the game in early August. One of these skins features the Human Torch, who resembles the famous One Piece villain, Donquixote Doflamingo.

The likeness is striking. Johnny Storm sports the same white glasses and has a hairstyle similar to Doflamingo, along with an open shirt.

One Piece fans quickly noticed this resemblance. Many expressed their excitement in the Rivals subreddit and highlighted the clear reference.

“Bro looks like he’s ready to conquer Dressrosa,” wrote one user.

This isn’t the first time that One Piece has been referenced in Marvel Rivals. Back in December, a winter-themed event included a snowman with a top hat and antlers, which fans took as a nod to Chopper.

It would be great if the developers recognized how much fans love One Piece and decided to create a high-quality title around it.
