Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope
Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope is a thrilling speed challenge located on the eleventh level of Donkey Kong Bananza, aptly called the Racing Layer. To tackle this challenge, you’ll need the zebra power-up, which is essential to advance in the game.
The main task is to navigate a course in 60 seconds, and if you succeed, you’ll earn a Bananadium Gem. However, the other two Bananadium Gems require a different approach, and that’s where this guide will assist you. Get your racing stripes ready, and let’s dive into the details of Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope.
Tips for Quickly Completing Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope
To snag the second Bananadium Gem, aim to finish the challenge with 20 seconds to spare, meaning you should complete it in 40 seconds instead of 60. This isn’t the first instance of a speed challenge needing a time bonus, and while speed is important, having a solid strategy will help even more.
The course winds around the outer edge, but you can cut through the center, which will help you save time. Watch out for the purple sharks, which leave rainbow paths behind when you hit them. These paths will allow you to skip a significant portion of the track.
For the first three sharks, just rush right up, punch them, and glide along the road in a straight line. After that, the next three sharks crisscross the arena. Here, it’s better to take a moment to aim your punch rather than rushing, as veering off course will cost you more time than carefully lining up does.
Pro Tip
Hold down ZL to charge your dash right at the start, but use this technique only for the first shark. After that, there’s not enough road, and your momentum may take you over the edge.
Once you make it to the finish line with 20 seconds to spare, the second Bananadium Gem will appear.
Finding the Hidden Bananadium Gem in Zebra Bananza: Liftoff Lope
Speed alone won’t cut it for the final Bananadium Gem. You won’t receive it based on how fast you complete the course. Instead, you’ll find it right by the finish line.
When you reach the final rainbow road, grab a piece of Liftoff Ore and fly to the right. On top of the podium—you might be surprised that it’s not covered in cheese—you’ll discover the elusive third Bananadium Gem waiting for you.
