In Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, there’s plenty to explore and discover. You can assist farmers in locating their missing spouses or battle menacing creatures that haunt the night. Sometimes, you’ll be tasked with aiding researchers like Imram in uncovering the secrets of the past.
This guide will help you connect with Imram and lead you to the ancient grotto he’s interested in. Within its depths, you’ll uncover fascinating lore about the Fore-Dwellers and the early inhabitants of Avalon, long before King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Everything you need to navigate this adventure is detailed below, so let’s dive in!
How to Begin the First Men Quest
To kick off this quest, talk to Imram at Vrell’s bookshop in the central area of Cuanacht. Inquire about his research and you’ll find out he’s searching for a particular grotto mentioned in ancient lore—a cave believed to be home to Avalon’s first inhabitants. He’s eager for more information.
Sadly, he suffered injuries during his travels and can’t make the trek himself. However, since you took the time to listen to his story, he trusts you with this mission.
Location of the Grotto of the First Men
To discover the grotto, head to the Forlorn Swords, located east of Cuanacht. You’ll find it in the northern part of the area, east of the two gates leading into Cuanacht. Traverse the snow and defeat the undead guarding the entrance.
The grotto can be located by examining the rocks to the northeast. Carefully search for a gap and enter the grotto to begin your exploration.
Locating the Artifact in the Grotto of the First Men
Inside the grotto, you can either swim through the water or cross a gap to venture deeper into the cave. The cave walls are adorned with drawings that guide you to an altar featuring a construct with four arms. When it detects your presence, it will engage you in conversation.
Although it cannot answer all of your questions, feel free to ask as many as you’d like.
Once your discussion concludes, the construct will gift you what appears to be a Fore-Dweller skull. Return to Imram at the bookstore and share everything you’ve experienced. He will express his gratitude and promise to make the journey himself someday.
