Obtaining the Fremen Deathstill
To acquire the Deathstill, you’ll need to finish the entire Footsteps of the Fremen quest line, which entails completing all eight Trials of Aql.
Although the quest line is lengthy, you can finish all eight trials in around two to three hours with determination.
Once you’ve completed the trials, you will unlock the Fremen Deathstill research project in your tech tree automatically.
Simply head back to your base to create a Deathstill.
Creating the Fremen Deathstill
To build the Fremen Deathstill, you need the following materials in your sub-fief:
- Silicone Block – 28
- Complex Machinery – 32
- Steel Ingot – 60
Once you have gathered these items, simply open your Construction Tool and place the Fremen Deathstill in your sub-fief.
Be aware that the Fremen Deathstill requires approximately 200 power, so ensure you have enough generators or turbines in place.
Without power, the Deathstill won’t function effectively.
Using the Fremen Deathstill
With the Fremen Deathstill set up, you can now produce water.
To use it, you must defeat an enemy and bring their corpse back to your sub-fief. For this, a buggy will help transport the body.
Remember, once you load up your buggy with items, including bodies, you won’t be able to store it in your Vehicle Replicator.
So, ensure you have adequate fuel available.
From there, just place the body on the Fremen Deathstill to start the water extraction process.
The Deathstill generates about 25,000 water per hour, making it the most effective method for securing water for you and your sub-fief.
As you progress in Dune: Awakening, you can also craft the Advanced Fremen Deathstill, which yields 45,000 water in a shorter time frame.
Duraluminum will be needed for this upgrade, so you must have accessed the Deep Desert by then.
