In Dune: Awakening, you’ll come across a wide variety of items, resources, and weapons. As you progress, it’s likely you’ll end up with some duplicates while searching for others. This is where the Exchange, or CHOAM Exchange, comes into play.

The Exchange operates as an open marketplace where players can buy and sell to each other directly. You can swap your extra resources for Solari or make some money by selling items you don’t need. Here’s a clear guide on how to use the Exchange in Dune: Awakening.

What Is The Exchange?

The Exchange is a significant virtual marketplace located on Arrakis. Here, you can engage in trade with other players, rather than just dealing with NPC vendors.

The Exchange is an excellent way to earn extra Solari, especially if you have multiple copies of a resource.

However, before you can access the Exchange, you need to reach a specific point in your gameplay.

Where Is The Exchange?

In Dune: Awakening, you can find the Exchange in two locations:

  1. Arrakeen
  2. Harko Village

To reach these areas, you’ll need to hire an Ornithopter Pilot for 2,500 Solari.

Since you’ll have to pay to get to Arrakeen and Harko Village, make sure you have ample items to sell before you travel.

If you own your Ornithopter, you can fly to these locations yourself. However, building one can be expensive, so it may take a while before you’re ready to take that step.

Arrakeen Exchange Location

In Arrakeen, the Exchange is conveniently placed near the entrance. Just go up the stairs and turn left. You’ll see the CHOAM Exchange symbol outside.

Harko Village Exchange Location

In Harko Village, you can find the Exchange towards the back of the map. Move down the main road, and look for the CHOAM Exchange symbol in the center area.

How To Use The Exchange

Once you’re inside the Exchange building, head towards one of the Exchange Terminals located on the walls.

This will bring up the Exchange interface, where you can:

  1. Buy Items
  2. Sell Items
  3. Track Active Orders

How To Buy Items

Buying items is straightforward. Use the interface on the left side of the screen to search for items you want or scroll through to see what others are selling. Simply select the items you wish to purchase, as long as you have enough Solari.

The Exchange is a useful place to buy items that you haven’t yet unlocked in your Research Tree.

How To Sell Items

To sell items, switch to the ‘Sell Items’ tab and select the item you wish to sell.

The top sellers in the Exchange are generally spice, vehicles, and rare resources.

If you’re well-off in spice early in the game, consider diving into the spice market.

Once selected, you will see a menu where you can set:

  1. Price Per Unit
  2. Quantity To Sell
  3. Duration

You can define the duration for which your item will be on sale, ranging from one to 14 real-world days.

Keep in mind that you’ll need enough Solari in the CHOAM Exchange to cover any fees associated with the sale, which will be shown in your interface.

To deposit Solari, visit the front desk at any CHOAM Exchange and talk to the teller.

Finally, you can check the ‘My Orders’ menu at the top of the screen to view the items you have listed for sale and their current status.
