With countless places to explore in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, it’s easy to find yourself disoriented or caught in an unexpected predicament. We’re here to guide you through the perilous terrains, including the Forlorn Swords, so you can earn new rewards and fulfill various questlines.
As you rise through the ranks of the Children of Morrigan, you’ll unveil a plethora of secrets and intrigues that shape Avalon and Kamelot. With some assistance, you might even connect with the goddess herself and influence the destiny of her followers. Here’s what you need to know to locate the Crow’s Nest.
Finding the Crow’s Nest
Your next mission from Self, your mentor, is to find the large Corax nest within the Forlorn Swords. Your main objective is to rest in the nest and face whatever challenges arise.
To get to the nest, navigate to the southern part of the Forlorn Swords, where a massive sword stretches over a deep chasm. You’ll need to carefully cross the slender edge of the blade to reach the nest perched on top.
Circumnavigate the nest and ascend the branches to enter the Corax’s abode, then settle down in the nest for some sleep. You’ll awaken in a strange place alongside two lifeless crows, who will challenge you to face another Fledgling: Luth.
Unfortunately, there’s no escaping this. You’ll need to defeat Luth.
Ask any questions you may have, then slay your fellow Fledgling, Luth. There’s no time to loot; you must exit the Darkness and return to Self in Morrigan’s Hollow. You can either confront her about what you experienced or proceed as usual.
In either case, she will inform you of your next assignment: to speak with War himself. Head to the altar inside the hollow and interact with it to access War’s throne room and engage him in conversation.
You might find him familiar! War is Vidar from the Spread Your Wings quest and will have some intriguing dialogue for you.
War will let you know that you have a critical choice to make, but first, you need to locate Morrigan in the Corax Nest.
Finding Morrigan
The Corax is the massive flying creature you’ve noticed in Avalon since you washed ashore after the shipwreck. To access the nest, return to the Forlorn Swords and cross the sword above the chasm once more.
Climb into the nest to meet the goddess Morrigan herself. She has bestowed upon you not only her presence but also a choice. You must decide the fate of the Children of Morrigan: should they embrace the shadows or finally step into the light and rise to conquer Avalon?
Should You Choose Self or War?
Express your thoughts to Morrigan, but the real decision comes when you return to War to inform him of your decision. Whichever side you commit to will survive, while you will be compelled to eliminate the other in Morrigan’s name.
Here’s what transpires based on whether you side with Self or War:
-
Siding with Self
If you decide to ally with Self and embrace the shadows, maintaining the traditional path of the Children of Morrigan, you’ll need to deliver that message to War. In response, he will accuse you of deceit regarding Morrigan’s will and attack.
You can persuade him that he’s the true blasphemer, but the outcome remains unchanged.
After defeating him and bestowing an honorable death, return to Self in the hollow. In gratitude, they’ll reward you with your own set of Crow armor and a promotion as they continue to lead the Children of Morrigan from safety.
-
Siding with War
If you choose to ally with War, he will send you to confront Self. You can eliminate her without triggering the hostility of others if you proceed stealthily, but you cannot warn Self in advance.
Feel free to engage with the other Children of Morrigan, as they are merely bandits.
Once Self is defeated, the quest concludes, and you can search her remains for a set of Crow armor and branded skin that can be exchanged for a bounty. Following this, War will be able to lead the Children of Morrigan as he initially intended, as Vidar mentioned at the start.
Whichever path you choose, the questline wraps up, and you are now a full-fledged Crow among the Children of Morrigan. Best of luck! May your choices honor the goddess.
